Bones Dancing Horribly
jbloom-2976710 February 2021
I love this episode. I LOVE the undercover Buck and Wanda episodes. They really get to show their romance and deep connection together. I still don't know how they got Emily to dance so badly. It makes me laugh. I really enjoy this season of Bones. Something about it is different and a waltz of a season.

She Is So Darned Cute!
Hitchcoc21 February 2023
We have yet another far fetched episode which takes place primarily at a sort of "So You Think You Can Dance" type competition. We find out early on that Booth paid his way through school teaching dance. The reason they are in the competition is a young dancer is the victim and they figure the murderer would be a part of this setting. Bones is a non-dancer who figures she can just learn in a few minutes. Booth is accomplished and does his best. Brennan being who she is, won't let Booth lead when they finally perform. By the way, I sometimes forget how gorgeous Emily Deschanel is, especially when they dress her up. She has wonderful comic being too which we seldom see. An additional subplot is Angela having a midlife crisis. This would be so easy to solve if someone would just take the bull by the horns.

Buck and Wanda Moosejaw

Warning: Spoilers
How could you not love an under cover episode where we get to see Buck and Wanda?

I think there are a lot of great qualities to this episode. First of all, we start out with a cool set of remains that are covered in crystals. I also kind of liked the introduction to these bones through Sweets watching a tv show that discovers the bones.

We also get some great undercover work here. I mean, Bones isn't the best dancer by any means, but it is always fun to see them in a different element like this.

I also really liked that we finally got mention of Booth's mom. We have heard a lot about his alcoholic father, and we have heard about his Pops, but I don't think we have had any mention of him mom until this episode. I think it was nice to know that she and Booth shared this sweet moment. I am also totally here for Booth teaching dance to get through college.

The Angela story line was developed a bit more this week, which is nice considering two episodes ago I felt like we needed to do something more with it. I am kind of torn on this whole story line. I mean it fits with the character because since season 1 we have heard Angela talk about how this career really isn't her calling. However, it also feels like in 8 seasons we are hearing the same thing from Angela and I just wish we would develop something more for this character. I just don't get why Angela can't paint in her free time, or volunteer for some art thing on the weekends, or literally find any way to continue her passion while still working her job. Maybe they should just bring back Dr. Goodman so he can tell Angela her job description in his voice again like he did in season1, that seemed to work out pretty well.

Overall, this is a great episode. We get undercover work, we get a cool skeleton, and we get a partial solution to Angela's worries.

Best part: call back to earlier season (2?) where Bones talked about here asymmetrical iliac crest

Worst part: Bones' dancing.

Fun idea - skelegemshake

Warning: Spoilers
As usually it starts with Angelas insecurity about her art and work at the jeffersonian. Instead of being gratefull she is quite nasty to bones to begin with.

Another education to the 50 she already have (angela) foot examiner. Brennan should be able to see this without the socalled artist.

The writers is again inconsistent with the stories they already added to the characters.

As usual Jack doesn't really do any work and does not use any of the machines he so needed in previous season. So he uses his time on a spam man.

But awesome it is a undercover episode loving that!!! ❤.

Such a pretty skull as well.

Thankfully Wendel makes Jack work so that is good! We like him being the king of the lap.

And again angela is having a midlife crisis, and all she can think of is " iaaaam a aaaaartist"... I draw and dabble in many types of art but there is noway a woman in her age could do everything they ask her to do in different genres, from street art to realism etc. Normally a artist (characteruire artist) can't go and do what she does.

They writers should have stopped this after 4 seasons And we are on season 8.

The blond with blue dress looks a bit too old to have her mom running around and controlling her every move... (normally when you are in your 30s that is not needed )

Lovely to see brennan/Emily in a normal size and not so thin she been over all the seasons 💙.

Angela is a complete drama queen and I am surprised that Cam is still paying her for leaving her job for the day. When does this woman actually do what she was hired to?

And what is up with the insanely loud kissing noises????? Are they trying to suck each others faces off.

Again angela ignore rules at the jeffersonian and brings her son yet again in. And instead of working she is letting her emotions run off with her. This character is alone ruining the show. Jack walking on eggshells just for her on his own workspace as well.

Cutting Angelas hours was the best thing to do, hopefully they stick with this for now.

Very heavy angela episode despite being a undercover episode, why I won't go above 5.

Whiney, B**chy Angela
jpharristx18 January 2020
These episodes where Angela regrets her path in life are just exhausting. She goes from whiney/needy to a b*tch in just seconds when talking to people. Those are the only parts of the writing of this show that I truly hate. There are only extremes in the characters' feelings. No middle ground, no grace and compasssion for others. Just a very selfish b*tchy attitude when life doesn't go their way. Just wish they'd written characters with more depth and compassion, which would add to the complexity of the characters. As they are written now, they are very shallow people.

This episode is extremely painful. Nothing is more cruel than dancing Bones.
