The first few minutes of "Where's the Fair?" really hooked me. Showing clips of various previous world's fairs, the narrator asks what happened to the fairs? I had no idea...but they actually continue to take place today, though in the USA you hear nothing about these events. The show then explains why...and why the US government has withdrawn its financial support for these international expositions. So far so good....but then the film continues for another hour discussing the US lack of involvement in the most boring and uninteresting manner possible. Too many dull experts and a slow pace made the final 80% tough going. It's a shame, as the film did manage to interest me...initially.
