The summer of 2012 would be considered the summer of love for the gang with Marshall and Lily, Ted and Victoria, Barney and Quinn, and Nick and Robin all in blissfully happy coupledom. But by the fall, one item would turn that bliss on its head: a pre-nup issued by Barney for Quinn. Although most agree that Barney's requests are on the most part unreasonable - that is except for Barney and his lawyer, Arthur Hobbs - it is a starting point for a war between the sexes, not only with the women siding with Quinn and the men siding with Barney, but also bringing up issues in each of the other three relationships. With Marshall and Lily, they begin to argue about parenting. With Ted and Victoria, they begin to argue about how to get over their jilted and jilting past, especially as Ted has invited Klaus to room with him temporarily. And with Nick and Robin, they begin to argue about Robin's quirk in the bedroom in conjunction with her news career. By the next day, one of those arguments ... Written by Huggo

They lost the lovin' feelin'...
1 October 2012 | by (Mozambique) – See all my reviews

The 8 season may be the last one of HIMYM, which makes me sad, for the wrong reasons. I remember watching the first episodes only a year ago, and becoming addicted about 2 months later. I was just in love with this show, I don't know how is this possible but they had become my best friends. I spend some really great time watching this show, it was funny and sometimes thoughtful without that melodramatic stuff we use to see when a comedy series try to be serious. But in the season 6 it was clear something has changed, I didn't realized because I didn't want to, but now is crystal clear> They lost that loving' feeling'. The show, that been on the air since 2005 has changed, but the characters seen to get more unreal since the season 5 (this was really clear in the episode in which Teddy tells Robin he still in love with her,and in the season 7 and 8 in which Marshall and Lily have their baby but don't get any mature, and none of the characters, despite all they had gone through, has gone anywhere with their lifes, only living on an endless circle). The season 7 however was really special, for being the worst so far! After one really special episode (Trilogy time, one of the best episodes of the show) it hits rock bottom in the last 3 episodes of the season, especially in The Magician Code (Part 1 and 2), in those episodes lots of sitcom clichés are used in a really special moment that could have been used as a part of the story that is suppose to be> a life changing moment. But then I got excited about the 8 season (Which was not announced so far as the last, but that may be) thinking that maybe they would go back on tracks. The first episode however.was not funny at all, the thrill of maybe finding who is the mother made me think that it was not too late, but then again the joke is on me. This second episode (The Pre-Nup) only made me think that this show will not find a good finale, using all the clichés on the book of the sitcom. I just don't care about who is the mother anymore, I just want a honesty last season, showing the characters as human beings that learn with their mistakes and move on with their lifes.
