Storyline

Nick is puzzled by several cases where a suspect who escaped the police is violently dealt with by a masked, cloaked avenger. He even leaves Nick messages, suggesting he is a 'real Grimm' who is cleaning up 'weakling' Nick's messes. But he strikes terror even with gentle Wesen, like the beavers, who seek help through Monroe, who fears it's a descendant of a medieval Grimm vigilante order. Nick suspects a police mole. A new Grimm is in town
20 January 2017 | by See all my reviews

There seems to be a new Grimm in town, and they do not seem to be very happy about the job Nick is doing. Nick and Hank will have to investigate who is behind this vengeful new presence in Portland. All the while, Captain Sean Renard and Juliette meet for a coffee.

"The Hour of Death" is an entertaining episode that, however, has some shortcomings, especially at the beginning of the episode, which makes the pace of it suffer. The beginning, and the introduction to the episode's mystery, is too forced and brusque, and it will take a while for the viewer to get back into the plot. But when it all starts clicking, "The Hour of Death" starts to become more and more interesting. A new Grimm and one that disagrees with the job Nick is doing, does for different dynamics from your 'wesen-of-the-week' episode. Nick's arc, though, is a little bit forced, making him too much angry, too much suddenly. Consistency is important in a series, and in this case, the show forces some changes to justify the plot that do not fit the mold.
