PLAY NICE. THEY'RE FRIENDS.
nogodnomasters29 May 2019
Warning: Spoilers
The film was a concept of Daniel Ponickly and was directed by his wife Zoe Quist. They also starred in the film as Adam and Stephanie, an engaged couple who live in Big Sky County. Well actually they live in Wyoming, the other Big Sky Country. Their remote cabin is the site for them to entertain Jack (Christopher Soren Kelly) and Amanda (C. Ashleigh Caldwell) college friends of Adam. Adam and Amanda were once an item for a short time in the freshman year.

Stephanie is an avant-garde student of found footage film making and wants to use the couple in a film project involving Hillbillies attacking the beautiful maidens...a scene that would have been interesting had they actually filmed it. Instead the movie is filled with filler material, of guys and girls talking about their relationship and what marriage should be like...something that might be of interest to newlyweds Ponickly and Quist, but boring for the rest of us.

I warn you. The film has a nice wicked twist which I didn't see coming. The clues were far too sparse and misleading. I did notice that the champagne bottle, the one where Jack pops a cork, had a screw top lid. Bad prop? Or a clue? It could be a clue as we do find out Jack and Amanda are broke and looking for somewhere else to stay, but it wasn't.

Guide: F-bomb. Sex. Quick side breast nudity.

Um...No Thanks.

Adam, Jack, Stephanie, and Amanda are spending time in an out-of-the-way cabin. Stephanie wants to make a found-footage film that involves the four being hunted by a crazy man. The next morning, they decide to switch the story and have the two girls - Amanda and Stephanie - swimming in a stream, while two hillbillies - Adam and Jack - watch them. They decide to go on a hike, and the men take off to hide and jump out at the women. During the hike, it's revealed that Adam and Steph really love each other, but Jack and Amanda have pretty much fallen out of love. I won't give away any spoilers, so the review ends here. I will say that this is NOT a found-footage film.

I gave this a 3-star rating. The cinematography was awful. It looks like it was filmed in the 1970s. The acting was nothing great, but the bonding in the beginning was believable. The climax of the film didn't make very much sense to me. I was bored through virtually all of the film. I wouldn't watch this again, and I can't say that I'd recommend it either. There is nudity in this. Adam walks into the bathroom showing his butt.

As Boring as Watching the Tumbleweeds Blow By
timothygartin22 October 2019
This movie was really boring. It isn't a horror movie. It is supposed to be a thriller, but it has no thrills. It looks like it might be a found footage movie, but it isn't. The direction is terrible. Some scenes are hard to hear. Some scenes aren't framed correctly. Some are too dark to see what is happening. The music is really bad - there are a lot of sappy piano interludes that almost make you laugh they are so maudlin.

However, the big problem is how tedious this movie is. It is a drama with a horror ending. First, you can see the ending coming a mile away. Second, this movie is an hour and twenty minutes long. The first kill happens with eight minutes left.

The killer had to have spent a huge amount of time setting this up for a bunch of simple kills. None of the victims put up any struggle. It was so anticlimactic.

I do not recommend this one.

1 star for the idea, -9 for everything else

This movie made me so angry, these 'actors' couldn't act themselves out of a paper bag. The script was predictable, the characters boring, the horror part of the movie is shoved into five minutes at the end with obvious fake blood and no gore. If you're going to make a movie with four actors, you better make damn well sure they're good because I got tired of the whiny voices and the uglier and less convincing machinist version of Christian Bale. I fast forwarded through more than half of the movie because their version of character development was basically smut and or really simple conversations that repeat themselves. Aside from Cannibal Holocaust, this is the movie I most regret spending any time whatsoever on. Just save yourselves, there is nothing good in this movie, no redeeming qualities. I would have rated zero stars but I don't think I can, and also I didn't think that they would put actors in a movie that could have been upgraded to p*rn stars, better looking and better actors.

Congrats to everyone who made this movie, you made money off of nothing and you should look into becoming magicians.

Dumb & Dumber Too
devinlhoffman5 December 2014
Warning: Spoilers
Dumb & Dumber ... would've been the appropriate name for this waste of cinematography. The protagonista is horrible. That's all I need to say. The actual film looks like it was shot on someone's 1980-era camcorder - the kind you put a VHS tape into. The acting quality fluctuates like a vacillating fan. At times it is actually good, then - the very next minute - you're thinking "how the hell did they not re-shoot that scene? Horrible!"

Spoiler:

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX XXX

The ending makes about as much sense as trying to shave with a machete! Here's the epitome of the story-line: heartless, scheming, acting bitch wants to make a movie, so she films a weekend with her new boyfriend and her boyfriend's best friend, Jack, and Jack's wife. So, the four of them are together on a ranch in Wyoming, spending - what is supposed to be - a relaxing weekend; however, the heartless acting bitch is actually scheming to film the entire weekend and then kill her boyfriend and the other two guests, which she does, in the proffered pursuit of making a horror film.

As she's killing everyone, she tells them "thank you, for helping me make the perfect movie." Kills them, then smiles.

Okay? Here's a little question: what exactly are you going to do with that movie? She is supposed to be the consummate schemer, but she failed to realize that if she shows anyone the film, she's going to go to prison for murder! HELLO!!????!!

Like I said, DUMB & DUMBER!
