Goofs

It is stated that prior to the outbreak, the virus was unstable and underwent several rounds of mutations before its genome stabilized, making the virus extremely virulent, and that was the reason they needed the primordial strain of the virus (before it mutated) to make a vaccine. The whole idea that, in order to make an efficient vaccine, they'd need the primordial strain of the virus is nonsensical by itself. Making a vaccine with a strain that is NOT the one that's infecting people would be totally useless. Moreover, since the final version of the virus has stopped mutating, a vaccine developed using the virus isolated from any infected patients is most likely to have been efficient and fairly easy to do despite its dangerous nature, and it would've been done simultaneously in several countries. Excellent Show
29 August 2014 | by (California) – See all my reviews

It's about time a new show can be enjoyed by the young as well as the old. Many of my friends were in the Navy and they like this show. I am currently reading the novel by William Brinkley. There is much more of course in the novel. This gives Michael Bay (a great director) many ways to take this show. I rate this TNT show a strong 9 stars. I look forward to the show returning next season. Amazon.com is an easy place to get the paperback novel The Last Ship. William Brinkley was a commissioned officer in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He lived from 1917 to 1993. I am so glad Michael Bay is directing his novel. I definitely disagree with those viewers who have given the show only a few stars. Too much on TV is, in my opinion, just too heavily loaded with low IQ sexual comedy.
