Pete and Kate decide to renew their vows, but they get more than they bargained for when Kate is found to be living in the country illegally. Jackie and Dianne are in parallel as they struggle to let their relationships go "public".

Kate struggles when she takes over the PTA and ends up being faced with blackmail; a boy's parents forbid him from going to a school dance with Hillary.
Kate begrudgingly agrees to accompany Jackie to her high school reunion, not fully realizing all that it entails. Meanwhile, Pete and Diane take Hillary and Warren to visit a college campus and Bert is left in the care of Meg and Tevin.
