When 'Phineas and Ferb' first started to air, Disney Channel was nowhere near as good as it used to be and still isn't. Instead of the likes of the animated Disney shows of the 80s and 90s, most of it was and still is animated shows with childish humour and Disney Channel sitcoms and unfortunately it tended to not be the good ones. This continued throughout the whole of 'Phineas and Ferb's' run to the extent that this became one of the few shows airing on the Channel worth watching.

Really liked both "The Mom Attractor" and "Cranius Maximus", with the better of the two being surprisingly the latter. There were quite a few laudable and successful attempts in making Baljeet interesting and make him easy to root for in relatable scenarios that anybody can identify with, and "Cranius Maximus" is another one of those episodes to achieve this very well. "Cranius Maximus" is a lot of fun, but is more conventional and with not the same amount of freshness in the material.

The animation is still wonderfully vibrant with very rich attention to detail. The music is dynamic with the action and the theme song is insanely catchy with very clever and quotable lyrics that anybody still in school fishing for how to spend their vacation will relate to. The voice acting is great, Dan Povenmire always sounds like he's having so much fun.

Writing is very funny and intelligent. Once again, the right balance of being easy to understand for children while not being too juvenile for adults is successful. Both stories are entertaining and energy filled without being too manic, Baljeet's role in "Cranius Maximus" is interesting even if it is not always comfortable seeing this less appealing side to him. The characters are very well done in both episodes.

Phineas and Ferb are both likeable (love their plan in "Cranius Maximus") and Doofenschmirtz is typically wonderfully goofy in both episodes in subplots that play to his character strengths. Baljeet's character writing saw a stronger personality for him and it was great to see.

Did feel though that Candace's story could have done with more variety, on paper it sounds different but is executed conventionally.

In conclusion, very nicely done. 8/10.
