- When Denise finds an abandoned baby in the Paradise Moray sees the opportunity for free publicity in the local press as well as starting a fund for the little boy from customers. Peter Adler,a philanthropist who runs a foundling home,agrees to take the baby in in exchange for a group of foundling girls visiting the store. Despite opposition in some quarters Katherine handles the situation well and Denise also rises to the occasion,causing the jealous Miss Audrey to forbid her to impress Moray with new ideas. Nonetheless she suggests,through Katherine, the creation of a children's wear department,which impresses Moray. As Katherine and Peter start to date Denise discovers Clara's secret whilst Edmund and Miss Audrey discuss what might have been when they were younger.—don @ minifie-1
- Everyone is in shock when Denise finds finds a baby in the ladies dressing room. Moray sees an opportunity for publicity and decides that they will keep the baby until arrangements can be made. Peter Adler offers to take the child into the home for foundlings which he has generously financed and Moray agrees, provided he can keep the child in the store for a few days. When some of the little girls come to the Paradise for a tour, Katherine Glendenning decides to clothes them all at her expense. Most of the staff are charmed by them but Clara can't stand being near them. It's at the Paradise office that Adler meets Katherine Glendenning and she decides to pursue him. Miss Audrey feels threatened by Denise's ideas for the store and tell her that she is to stop. When she tries a different route, it only causes trouble.—garykmcd
