Exclusive: Stephen Herek family film starring Sophie Nelisse set for October release.
Lionsgate Premiere, the studio’s specialty division, has boarded Us distribution on completed comedy-drama The Great Gilly Hopkins.
Script comes from David Paterson (Bridge To Terabithia) who produced with Bill Teitler (Jumanji) and home improvement and energy sector businessman Brian Kennedy of Latium Enterprises, majority owner of UK rugby leage team Sale Sharks.
The film marks Kennedy’s second signficant film investment after 2014 Cannes drama The Homesman.

Saban Films is close to a deal for U.S. distribution rights to “The Girl With All the Gifts,” the company said Friday. The film unfolds in an underground bunker, where children are being examined by scientists in the hopes of finding a cure for a fungal spore that has infected the planet.
The BFI (British Film Institute) and Creative England financed the film, with Camille Gatin and Angus Lamont producing the picture. Bill Bromiley and Ness Saban negotiated the deal on behalf of Saban Films out of Cannes with Altitude’s Mike Runagall representing the filmmakers.

Saban Films is acquiring North American distribution rights to horror thriller 31, the latest film from visionary mastermind Rob Zombie (House of 1000 Corpses, The Devil's Rejects Halloween and Lords of Salem). The film stars Sheri Moon Zombie, Golden Globe Nominee Malcolm McDowell, Jeff Daniel Phillips, Ginger Lynn Allen, Elizabeth Daily and Meg Foster. Rob Zombie wrote and directed the film, which made its World Premiere at the Sundance Film Festival and will have a September 16th release.
31 follows five carnival workers who are kidnapped and held hostage in an abandoned, Hell-like compound where they are forced to participate in a violent game, the goal of which is to survive twelve hours against a gang of sadistic clowns. Said Saban Films President Bill Bromiley.

Varèse Sarabande will release the Gods Of Egypt – Original Motion Picture Soundtrack digitally on February 26 and on CD March 25, 2016. The album features the original music composed by Marco Beltrami (the upcoming Ben Hur, The Hurt Locker, The Homesman, Snowpiercer and World War Z).
“The magnitude of score is beyond anything I have done before,” said Beltrami. “This two and half hour score is the biggest film score project I have ever undertaken, after all these years that it saying something. Just mixing it took over a month but it was all worth it as it is really fun to stretch my wings a bit.”
