New on Netflix in August: The original series "Narcos," about Colombian drug lord Pablo Escobar, starring Wagner Moura of "Elysium;" and the site's first Spanish-language original series, "Club de Cuervos," about a brother and sister who inherit a soccer team.

You'll also be able to stream the critically acclaimed film "White Dog," Best Picture Oscar winner "The Hurt Locker," the Kristin Wiig dramedy "Welcome to Me," and Simon Pegg as an assassin in "Kill Me Three Times."

There are also new episodes of "Doctor Who," "Revenge," "Once Upon a Time," "Transporter: The Series," and "GIrl Meets World." Happy binging!

With the Oscars upon us, the awards season is almost over! But the last trek to the Academy Awards include many guild awards and of course, BAFTA! So here.s the latest congratulatory awards list of the winners from BAFTA to DGA, from Annie to Ace and everything in between!

DGA Nominations Announced for TV, Documentaries

Showtime’s “Homeland” scored two Directors Guild of America television nominations and Jodie Foster was nominated twice, for directing Netflix’s “House of Cards” and “Orange Is the New Black,” in her first DGA nominations.

Jill Soloway, whose “Transparent” just won best comedy at the Golden Globes, received her first DGA nomination for the Amazon series, as did Mike Judge for HBO’s “Silicon Valley.” Another DGA newbie, Cary Fukunaga, landed a nom for HBO’s “True Detective.”

Besides “Orange Is the New Black,” “Silicon Valley” and “Transparent,” comedy series nominations went to “Modern Family” and Louis C.K. for FX’s “Louie.” “30 Rock” won the category last year.

Game of Thrones” took a nom in drama series and will go up against the two “Homeland” episodes, “House of Cards” and “True Detective.” It was the fifth DGA nomination for Lesli Linka Glatter, who directed the “From A to B and Back Again” segment of “Homeland. »
