Thought provoking

I really liked this! It's off beat, quirky and a bit hipsterish and has the makings of a little independent cult classic in my opinion. I have to say the camera work was subtly rewarding with shots framed to perfection, wide lenses capturing the lush green forests and stillness of the pastoral mis-en-scene. It is essentially a film where nothing really happens too much I guess a bit like Napoleon Dynamite, but a bit more angry. Imagine it to be like if you are sat with a friend who likes action and adventure and they are playing with their phone complaining it is boring but you are a bit beguiled. Scenes pause an extra beat, silences prevail but the scenes will engage you if not by the ongoing action but imaging yourself to be in the scenes yourself in some kind of childhood fantasy but with all the knowledge you have now. To be let loose in somewhere you shouldn't be and with everything at your disposal. Like being locked in a toy shop or a super market. It also interestingly contains two vastly unlikeable protagonists, who I found I continued to dislike even after the film ended. But it still retains that charm and that kind of endless unpredictability that made it feel like it could keep going on forever and you would happily sit and watch.
