I know this is wrong, but I kinda liked a few things in this movie. It might have to with the fact, that you sort of expect it to be completely bad and when it isn't you are positively surprised. As was the case here. Just the fact that you have a lot of cameos is sort of fun, if you play the name game (and also wonder why and how they ended up in this! I'm guessing Mr. Farley had something to do with that).
If you don't know who's in it (haven't read the cast list like me), it might be fun for you too. I'll only name Tom Sizemore (Heat, Relict) who has one of the weirdest roles in this one. I don't think every joke worked (I don't get the fascination with 10 fart jokes in a movie for example), but overall breaking the fourth wall (having crew members entering the shots) and going completely crazy on almost everything was the best way the movie could go ... so if you like crazy stretched to its limits, you might find some bright spots yourself

A sh*t sandwich on stale bread. I wasn't expecting much from this movie, but still it managed to disappoint me. It was almost as tedious as the movies it was parodying. Towards the end, I had to resist the temptation to fast forward. The writing was unoriginal and more silly than funny. Some scenes seem to have been cut in at random, with no relation to the rest of the script. The B-list cameos served only to briefly distract from the bad script. The only thing paranormal about the movie was the notion that a guy like Farley could get a girlfriend as hot as Carly Craig. Speaking of Craig, I'm a big fan, but her performance was so monotone that it barely qualified as acting. She should have sharted all over this movie. It would have helped.
Extremely plain, even Scary Movie 5 looks like a humor prodigy compared to this one. However, Paranormal Movie has one thing that simply justifies it and puts it above competitors. Breaking the fourth wall.
What is Scary Movie 5? A film from the most famous parody franchise that was supposed to be at least as fair as 4th. It - failed. What is Cloudy with a chance of meatballs? An animation blockbuster that was supposed to rip off the insane and the young all around the world. It... succeeded.
This - is a true parody. It's bad, because it's bad and for the sake of bad. It's not funny - because it wants you to notice it's not funny.
The film not only questions the value of original Paranormal Activity and how a few jump scares under crude suspense can shock the theater... It also questions the value of parody. It's not much of a parody or a movie, per say - it's more like a documentary. Like a youtube review.
Unlike other movies, like those listed above, that also do absolutely unthinkable things that are below criticism - this movie does it for good reason. Not to be cruel, not to sink a franchise, not to drowse a theater.
It's going straight to DVD, and that's how it should be.
Since parodies can't be rated among normal films of 5-10 bracket, I'd say that 4 in 1-5 bracket is almost as good as 8 would be in 5-10.

Kevin Farley is no Jim Belushi. Carly Craig is wasted in this, her only job is to look good and she succeeds in that. Very few funny moments, other than the cameos, William Katt in particular. Worth the buck I spent for that at least.
