Strange mix of fantasy & reality
One of four films shot in overlapping fashion (with basically the same cast) in 2002 by David Stanley, "Girl of My Dreams" is notable as the feature debut of Vivid superstar-to-be Savanna Samson. His ensemble cast does a fine job in a typically oddball, often cryptic on purpose Stanley exercise.
Samson is a star TV actress, replete with housemaid (Britney Skye in sexy maid (for fetishists) costume, and TV co-star boyfriend Mickey G. But the movie is actually about overage community college students Wendy Divine and Anton Michael, who also get leading roles in the other movies in this series, notably "Anything" and "Sparks".
Stanley uses a Bunuelian film structure, whereby Anton & Wendy are at home watching Savanna and Mickey on the TV series "Amy's Room", which takes us into the actors' story. Similarly, he ends the movie by having a completely new couple, not introduced into the story before, watching that TV show, commenting on it and then making love, just the sort of non sequitur that stamps it as a "David Stanley D.V." (video). Dale DaBone and a less familiar but sexy actress Faith Adams finish the show, ending with a cryptic reference to role-playing (obviously the underlying theme of Stanley's script), as Faith finishes with "I Love You, Bobby", the character name played by Mickey in the "Amy's Room" series.
Savanna is certainly larger than life and sexy in this showcase, though I prefer the look and talent of relatively unsung Wendy/Maya Divine. For sheer "the next Jenna Jameson" content (certainly what Savanna who often co-starred with an older JJ was shooting for) Skye in her small role delivers those goods.
