A new doctor, Oliver Thredson, arrives at Briarcliff assigned by the courts to examine and report on Kit Walker. He's appalled by conditions he finds there and the fact that they still use electroshock to treat homosexuality. His view of how medicine is practiced is seemingly confirmed when a new patient arrives and Monsignor Howard decides that an exorcism is called for. In flashbacks, some of Sister Jude's life prior to becoming a nun is revealed. Meanwhile, Lana continues to be a threat and Sister Jude convinces Dr. Arden to give her shock therapy in the hopes it will affect her memory. Lana makes a plan to escape with her new friend Grace but it doesn't go as planned. Also, Dr. Arden engages the services of a prostitute but she can't quite seem to meet his requirements. Very good episode!

First of all, this miniseries has an excellent cast - two-time Oscar winner Jessica Lange (also won Emmy for playing Constance Langdon), incredibly hot Evan Peters, bizarre Chloe Sevigny, vicious James Cromwell, somewhat kind Lizzie Brochere, and righteous doctor Zachary Quinto, potential love interest Joseph Fiennes, a little jerky Sarah Paulson, and innocent nun Lily Rabe. These actors all play well, and even though I usually don't like the idea of having the same actors play different roles, it is virtually working this time. Even though it can only be me, I am one of the people who are actually enjoying Season 2 a little bit more than Season 1. I thought Season 1 was awesome, and a runner-up for Emmy Awards, but this time, I even like the idea of setting a show in the insane asylum more. I like the story, fast-paced but still well-acted scenes, and wonderfully crafted factors of this series. I especially enjoyed the exorcism scene here. Sister Jude is revealed to have been a woman (much like a whore) in the past and she screams, slaps the boy harshly on the bed - it was my favorite part. Jessica Lange always astonishes me and she is still maintaining her pace. I am expecting more from the third episode. But i will not want to see any kind of crappy sex scenes. I think this show will get better and better till the very climax which is surely expected to amaze every viewer.
