Trivia

Garth tells Sam and Dean "even if there was any sulfur, Barney Fife and his crew probably contaminated the whole crime scene and any evidence that was here with it." He is referring to the bumbling deputy sheriff from "The Andy Griffith Show" (1960-1968). See more »

Not a bad episode!
9 November 2012 | by (Winnipeg) – See all my reviews

Not a bad episode. I hate Bobby's replacement, Garth, but they are trying to bring the Y generation into the show. Southern Comfort is about a spirit/cursed object which is causing rage/murder on residents of a town. The boys and Mr Y Gen, Garth, must figure out what to do. The plot is the usual resolve a problem episode. The side story has some character development where Garth and Dean can not get along. The tension between the two characters create comic relief for the storyline. Garth does have some good ideas and points and is somewhat accepted by Dean. The story of the new guy versus old is interesting. I give Southern Comfort a seven out of ten. Not a bad show.
