Eros International, the Indian movie production and distribution giant, is in discussions with Apple, Netflix and Amazon to sell the rights to its 3,000-plus film and music library, according to reports.

A deal could be worth as much as $1 billion, according to India’s Economic Times, which first reported the talks. However, the value of its film library is worth less than $1 billion, according to a Reuters report citing an anonymous source who confirmed the talks.

Bollywood blockbusters in the Eros portfolio include “Bajrangi Bhaijaan” (starring Salman Khan, pictured above), “Dabangg” and “Bajirao Mastani.”

Eros had previously attempted engaged with broadcasters including Sony, 21st Century Fox’s Star India, Viacom and Zee to sell its content library, per Reuters.

In a statement, Mumbai-based Eros International Media Ltd. said, “we are not privy to any strategic discussions that our NYSE-listed parent company Eros International Plc may be having with various potential partners.”

7 of the Best One-Shot Action Sequences, From ‘Oldboy’ to ‘The Revenant’

25 July 2017 12:07 PM, PDT | Indiewire | See recent Indiewire news »

Most single-shot sequences, aren’t. What you’d swear are single takes are actually seamless edits — but that doesn’t dilute their mind-bending power. Even better: one-take action sequences like the third-act corker in “Atomic Blonde,” which sees Charlize Theron battling scads of baddies in a longform, long-take sequence designed to look like a single shot.

David Deitch’s film is filled with heart-pounding action scenes (Theron cracked multiple teeth while filming the Cold War-set Berlin spy thriller), but it’s that big final battle that action fans will remember.  And while “Atomic Blonde” feels fresh, the sequence takes plenty of cues from single-shots that have come before.

Fans of both Theron and single-shot sequences can get a small taste of the ass-kicking to come in “Atomic Blonde” (for the really curious, the single-shot segment plays out mostly on the stairs, »

Tubelight Movie Review

25 June 2017 8:54 AM, PDT | Bollyspice | See recent Bollyspice news »

Eid isn’t Eid if you don’t have a Salman Khan film to gush over. Since back in 2009, it is fully accepted in the industry that Salman owns Eid. Indian and world audiences have loved him over and again. Whether it was the remake of a Telugu film Pokiri in Wanted, the romantic spy action of Ek Tha Tiger or the cross-border comedy that was Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Salman has firmly settled himself as the man for Eid in Bollywood. Last year was no different with the blockbuster Sultan. From all indications however, this year will be different. Even though Kabir Khan is helming the megaphone again, this film is different to anything that has come before from Salman or Bollywood. For the first time, we are going to look at war from the perspective of the soldiers’ families.

“Kya tumhe yakeen hai?” From the poster, we have the immediate feel of change. »

The Da-bangg Tour was Da Bomb!

4 May 2017 3:25 AM, PDT | Bollyspice | See recent Bollyspice news »

There is just something magical about seeing your favourite celebrity perform live for you on stage. There is this connection as they dance sing or even just speak on stage that brightens up the night and mesmerises us. Now add in 5 big names on 1 stage and you get the Da-Bangg Tour.

The night began with a dance performance by Shiamak Sydney Dance Troupe to get the beat bumping. A medley of new and old tunes including ‘Tamma Tamma’ and ‘Laila Main Laila’ was well received, but after starting late, the audience was itching to see their beloved stars.

Then came Manish Paul in his only solo dancing routine for the Dabangg intro song. Not quite a theme song but he introduces everyone to arrive on stage like pre-performance hype. It seemed like he would be the weakest link to the whole night. Yet the host/actor doesn’t disappoint. He »
