"Kommissarin Heller - Tod am Weiher" is the first of so far three crime movies about a young female police detective solving difficult cases. A fourth movie will be aired later this year. Apart from the dramatic scenes, there is also some humor included, for example another police officer who wants to date the protagonist and the strange ways in which the two keep running into each other. And yet another cop is used to create a personal relevance as this one is about kids being kidnapped and he has a daughter too. This is also used again in one of the sequels when children are shot at the girl's school.
Christiane Balthasar did a good job directing here and also in the two other films and same can be said about the writing team Mathias Klaschka and Silvia Roth. Especially the tense showdown at the guy's house at the end was very well done. All in all, it's a pretty refreshing series and I recommend it.
