Captain Victoria Gates (as Penny Johnson Jerald) (credit only)

Castle and Beckett plan a romantic weekend away in the Hamptons, but their trip turns sour when a dying man stumbles into their swimming pool. Castle is intrigued by the case and Beckett follows his lead, knowing that they will not be able to enjoy their weekend until the crime is solved. The trail leads to a retired mobster, Vincent Cardono, a drug syndicate smuggling methamphetamine out of the Hamptons and a corrupt police deputy. Meanwhile, Ryan and Esposito try to find out who Beckett's boyfriend is. Ryan discovers Castle and Beckett's secret relationship while questioning a suspect, who lets slip that he was questioned by "the writer and his girlfriend". Ryan immediately catches on, and his suspicions are confirmed when the suspect tells Ryan that Castle's girlfriend's name was "Kate". Written by Anonymous

Did You Know?

Castle and Beckett agreed 'Caskett' was a nice nickname for them, especially because of the connection of caskets with murder. Castle fans have been using this nickname for Castle and Beckett since the first season. See more »

When Castle and Beckett are sitting in the holding cell Deputy Jones tells them that Chief Brady wants to talk to them. Beckett jumps up from the bench but is held back by handcuffs. She is not really cuffed to the bench but merely holding them in her hand. See more »

Kate Beckett: We should interrogate Natalia Roosevelt.
Chief Brady: Oh, I already spoke to her. She has no motive for killing Franklin.
Kate Beckett: And did you ask her about being Franklin's mistress?
Chief Brady: No.
Chief Brady: She didn't mention that.
Richard Castle: Yeah, suspects tend to hold back on stuff like that.

Best episode so far!!!
21 October 2012 | by (Spain) – See all my reviews

the writers really outdid themselves on this one.... One of the funniest episodes ever... Great chemistry between Nathan and Stana... A change of pace is very welcome , and some great twists... This is the best series on right now.... The Ryan character also is very well developed. Not a bloody episode. Also , a great "Italian Mafia" nod. Stana is hotter than ever, Nathan is getting old all of a sudden (well.. in the last few seasons), Alexis is a Woman now, and as always , the wardrobe and hair stylist people L O V E Susan Sullivan. My favorite episode so far. The house is really something. I love how Rick and Kate exchange their uncertainties. Can't wait for the commentary on the DVD.
