Chennai, Oct 30: Southern actress Namitha, known for her glamorous roles in films such as "Aai" and "Chanakya" over the years, is excited to don the khaki for the first time on screen in upcoming Tamil-Telugu-Kannada trilingual "Ilamai Oonjal".
She is extremely happy to steer away from monotonous roles she has been doing for a long time.
"It was a conscious decision to play a cop role. I'm excited as well as happy because in a very long time, I have got an opportunity to do something different. The director even offered me one of the heroines' roles in the film, but I refused because I wanted a challenging role," Namitha told.
