A world without hope
2 November 2012 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

The warehouse has been destroyed but thanks to H.G. Wells, Artie, Myka and Pete have survived the blast. Returning to Leena's, they find that Mrs. Frederic has died. Of all the artifacts destroyed at the warehouse, the one with the worse results was the destruction of Pandora's Box for within the box was the Spirit of Hope. Throughout the world there are riots and an outbreak of suicides as people succumb to despair and depression. But Artie has a watch that can reverse time; the thing is, it's missing a piece; a piece that is being held by successors to the Knights Templar. So off to Europe the team goes to retrieve it. Fortunately, the team (Artie, Pete, Myka and Claudia) is not affected by the hopelessness that is overcoming so many people. The leader of the Templars, Brother Adrian warns Artie that his reversing the time will unleash great evil. Obviously we have A new story arc beginning here. I was looking forward to seeing Brent Spiner as Brother Adrian but he really doesn't have much to do in this episode. Artie is the focus of this episode and Rubinek pulls it off very well. A couple of loose ends are nicely tied up in this episode but we are also left with a sense of foreboding. An excellent season opener.
