Did You Know?

Mike finds Brody's ammunition and concludes he shot Tom Walker because there is one bullet missing, but there should already be a missing bullet because he shot the deer at his cookout in season 1 while his son was watching. This "breaks the spell" because if there is supposed to be a missing bullet, it is wrong for Mike to assume Brody killed Walker. See more »

Working for the good guys

Using information provided by Brody the CIA follow his contact Roya to a meeting with an unknown man. Hoping to identify him they call in Brody; he has no idea who the man is but does disclose that 'the tailor' is dead. Quinn is furious that they weren't told sooner as they'd been watching his shop for ages but is calmed slightly when Carrie points out that this means they can now go in and conduct a search. Brody meanwhile is told to meet Roya and tell her that he overheard Carrie talking on the phone talking about a suspected member of Hezbollah entering the country in the hope that she will give him some information about the mystery man. She doesn't but she does let it be known that they know the tailor's shop is being searched. Carrie alerts Quinn but he and his team are ambushed before back up can arrive. Elsewhere Mike Faber is continuing to ask questions about Walker's death and it isn't long before his unofficial investigation has attracted the attention of the CIA. Brody's daughter Gina is understandable upset about the events of the previous night so goes to the hospital to find out how the woman they hit was; it turns out her injuries were very severe and she died… Gina tells Finn Walden but his sole concern is keeping himself out of trouble.

After last week's turn of events I was interested to see how the series would change; in most ways it hasn't; Brody is still keeping secrets from his wife and inevitably isn't fully trusted by Carrie or the CIA, the details of Abu Nazir's latest plot continue to remain a mystery and after the attack in Gettysburg look likely to stay that way. Mike Faber's investigations look to provide interest in future; the CIA have warned him off once what will they do next time. Gina's story shows that she does have a conscience unlike her new boyfriend; no doubt they will have to deal with the consequences of the accident at some point. It almost goes without saying now that the acting was top notch; especially from the protagonists and the story keeps moving along at a cracking pace.
