Third Person (2013) Poster

There are a number of misplaced "items" in the movie. Olivia Wilde's character is supposed to be in Paris, but she can briefly be seen in the back seat of a car driving by the Bar Americano. One of the paintings in James Franco's studio is on display in Rome, but with a different signature. And the obvious one where the note Mila Kunis writes in the New York hotel is picked up by Olivia Wilde in Paris.
This is the fourth movie that Mila Kunis and James Franco have co-starred. The previous films where Date Night (2009), The Color of Time (2012) and Oz the Great and Powerful (2013).
Jude Law and Naomi Watts were rumored to be cast in the movie in the early stages of production.
Faking New York exteriors in Rome meant acquiring at least a handful of yellow taxi cabs. The production was able to borrow a few from a film facility in Bulgaria.
Most of the film, including New York street scenes, were shot on sets built at Cinecita Studios in Rome.
The full name of James Franco's character only appears twice, and is never spoken. It is Richard Wiess. You see it first in Paris, when Michael (Liam Neeson) and Anna (Olivia Wilde) are walking in front of a building (you can see that his work will be featured there soon)and again when Julia (Mila Kunis)rings the buzzer at his building in New York. The name next the buzzer is R. Weiss.
Adrien Brody's character Scott is always saying 'spasibo' which is thank you in Russian although he is in Italy.
