5 reasons we love Liam Neeson

7 June 2016 7:07 AM, PDT | Cineplex | See recent Cineplex news »

Today is Liam Neeson's birthday, meaning there is no better time to celebrate our favourite Irish actor.

Let's face it, the man is capable of anything. He trained Batman in Batman Begins, saved over 1000 people from the concentration camps in Schindler's List, and he has a very particular set of skills that let him save his daughter in Taken.

On this, his 64th birthday, we are counting down five reasons why we love Liam Neeson.

1. Olivia Wilde ties his shoes

Other than her partner Jason Sudeikis, we bet no other man is getting their shoes tied by Olivia Wilde. This photo which was likely taken while Neeson and Wilde were filming Third Person is truly adorable. Although the film never saw the light of day, at least we have this wonderful treasure from it.

Poster and trailer for Manhattan Night starring Adrien Brody

6 April 2016 7:50 PM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

A trailer has been released for the upcoming thriller Manhattan Night, which you can view below along with the poster for the film…

The new thriller is based on the acclaimed New York Times Notable Book of the Year Manhattan Nocturne by author Colin Harrison, and stars Adrien Brody (Third Person, The Pianist) as “a New York City tabloid writer with an appetite for scandal. In this modern version of a classic film noir, we follow Porter as he is drawn into a very nasty case of sexual obsession and blackmail – one that threatens his job, his marriage and his life.”

First time filmmaker Brian DeCubellis writes and directs the film which co-stars Yvonne Strahovski (24: Live Another Day), Campbell Scott (The Amazing Spider-Man 2), Jennifer Beals (Proof), Linda Lavin (The Intern) and Steven Berkoff (The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo).

Manhattan Night opens in Us cinemas On Demand on May 20th. »

Trailer For ‘The Adderall Diaries’ Starring James Franco, Amber Heard, Ed Harris, and More

9 March 2016 1:08 PM, PST | The Film Stage | See recent The Film Stage news »

Coming off of a triple Oscar win with Ex Machina, Room, and Amy, as well as a successful wide release of The Witch, A24 is easily the biggest success story when it comes to new independent distributors. Next month they’ll release Pamela Romanowsky’s The Adderall Diaries, a drama which premiered at Tribeca last year and features James Franco, Amber Heard, Ed Harris, Christian Slater, and Cynthia Nixon. Ahead of the release, we now have the first trailer for the drama.

We said in our review, “Style trumps substance in writer-director Pamela Romanowsky’s The Adderall Diaries, a pet project involving Franco that perhaps seems to write the wrongs of his previous bomb about the writing process, Third Person. Inspired by a memoir from the real Stephen Elliott, his process here is a tortured one as he blames his father for his addictions in this cinematic equivalent of a Staind song. »
