Short revue: Premature thoughts
OJT31 December 2013
Coming home from Spain with your pregnant Spanish girlfriend isn't necessarily easy. The trip home from the airport shows that this visit isn't going to be what they hoped for. The talkative mother tries to loosen up the situation, but is instead she makes it all the more awkward. Dad hardly says anything. Tension is rising, and old stuff is bubbling up, and the son troubles with the conversation.

The whole short film is filmed inside the car, mostly with all four persons in the camera. It's bleak, without music, with the natural sounds in a car, except from the thoughtful and lonely sound of the sea in the end. Strong in feelings, and off many something to relate to.

A young couple. Coming to his parents. Trip in the car. Words, polite remarks, past of family, the foreign and pregnant young woman and the talking mother of the young man. The tension. It could be a slice from a film of Ingmar Bergman. Or just correct job about differences of generations. Result - a decent short film about not high expectations and the memories about an aunt and a small casket.
