Sin City: A Dame to Kill For was originally set to be released this October, but it has been pushed back nearly a year. Production started early this year at Rodriguez’s Troublemaker Studios in Austin and no reason has been given for the delay. However, we do have a new release date and its August 22, 2014.
There’s nothing currently scheduled to compete with it on that weekend, but August 1st sees the release of Guardians of the Galaxy, August 8th has Universal’s Dracula, and the 15th is when The Expendables 3 will open. It’s going to be a big month for genre films and we wouldn’t be surprised if Sin City: A Dame to Kill for changes release dates once again. We’ll let readers know as soon as more information becomes available.

It's big. Very big. It could be the biggest ever. Man of Steel is here, the latest Superman film, directed by Zack Snyder and with Christopher Nolan's sticky fingerprints all over it. The film itself burst fully formed into the media at 4am on Tuesday morning, when the worldwide media embargo was lifted. Our first look review handed it three big stars, an assessment repeated when the capo, Peter Bradshaw, gave his verdict.
Critics across the planet weighed in, with the word being on the positive side of mixed. That of course cut no ice with the big cheeses at Warner Bros, who have already commissioned a sequel; nor with our man in the stalls, Joe Queenan, who took the exact opposite view to WB. Give the superheroes a rest, was his basic message. »
The gossip site quotes a source as suggesting that Gibson will join fellow newcomers Nicolas Cage, Jackie Chan and Milla Jovovich in The Expendables 3, which will also star series regulars Bruce Willis and Arnold Schwarzenegger. Other rumoured new recruits include Wesley Snipes and Steven Seagal. Stallone tweeted in April that Gibson had turned down the chance to direct the next instalment in the saga; now it appears the former A-lister has agreed to a turn in front of the cameras instead.
Gibson has struggled to find currency in Hollywood following a period of negative publicity stretching back to 2006, when he reportedly made antisemitic comments to »

After the poor performance of Bullet to the Head and The Last Stand, Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger will be hoping their combined might is enough to reignite the box office returns for the aging action icons when the duo team up for Escape Plan, which has just received its first poster today....
Directed by Mikael Håfström (1408), Escape Plan - formerly The Tomb - sees Stallone as Ray Breslin, the world's foremost authority on structural security, agrees to take on one last job: breaking out of an ultra-secret, high-tech facility of his own design. But when Ray is wrongly imprisoned, he must recruit fellow inmate Emil Rottmayer (Schwarzenegger) to help devise a daring, nearly impossible plan to escape from the most protected and fortified prison ever built.
Escape Plan is due for release on October 18th and features a supporting cast that includes

As the Expendables franchise dodders with stubborn muscularity towards its third instalment, the casting options seem to be dwindling. By our back-of-an-envelope calculations, the only remaining '80s action stars still mobile and capable of wielding weaponry are Michael Biehn, Mel Gibson and Jet from Gladiators. Well, Showbiz 411 is reporting that one of them has got the call on the Stallonephone. It's not Jet. It's Gibson who's said to be in talks to play The Expendables 3's big bad. If this comes together it'll represent a possible first step on the long road to public rehabilitation for Gibson, adding Martin Riggs to a Planet Hollywood-esque cast roster that already boasts John Rambo, Ivan Drago, John McClane and John Matrix (there were a lot of Johns about in the '80s). Also on board are Nicholas Cage, Steven Seagal, Milla Jovovich and possibly Wesley Snipes and Jackie Chan.Gibson, long »

At one point Mel Gibson was rumored to be directing The Expendables 3, but that gig went to Patrick Hughes whose only previous credit is the low-budget Australian western Red Hill. However, Gibson is still getting involved with the film as sources say he’s close to making a deal to play the villain. He’d be following in [...]

Not too long ago, Sylvester Stallone was asking his fans whether they think Mel Gibson would be the right person to direct "The Expendables 3." Gibson eventually turned down the job and Stallone went Patrick Hughes (Red Hill) instead. But now comes word that Gibson may still be interested in "The Expendables 3," but as an actor. Showbiz411 has learned that Gibson is in talks to play the main villain, something that's now become common for the actor, since he's also playing the villain in "Machete Kills." "The Expendables 3" will bring on Jackie Chan, Wesley Snipes, Nicolas Cage and Milla Jovovich, and is set to hit theaters on August 15th, 2014. »
“The Expendables 3” may have recruited a great villain.
According to Showbiz 411’s sources, the action hero team may have to face Mel Gibson. No official confirmation at this time, but the site’s sources described it as “serious.”
Back in April, Sylvester Stallone wanted Gibson to direct the third installment, but was turned down. “Red Hill” director Patrick Hughes took the helm instead, but maybe Gibson wanted to be involved after all.
Gibson will be seen in the upcoming “Machete Kills” as a crazed drug dealer villain in that film.
So what you guys think about Gibson trying to take down the Expendables team?

What is Casting Couch? It’s the news column that answers important questions like, what’s next for Denzel Washington? Which two Community cast members are going to do film work together? And how is that kid from Mud doing finding another job? You may had thought you’d seen the last of Mel Gibson, but a handful of public meltdowns can’t kill a career that had reached the heights of his, they can only cool it off for a few years. Is the public ready to dip their toes back into the Gibson waters to see if they’re still feeling manic and racist? That’s what Sylvester Stallone may soon find out, because Showbiz411 is claiming to have a source close to the matters that says Gibson has been hired to play the villain in The Expendables 3. It’s a rumor, but one they seem pretty confident of. If »

Mel Gibson, who has experienced controversy after controversy in the last few years, seems to be fully embracing the villain role that society seems to have placed him in. In a few months he will be seen playing an evil, psychotic weapons dealer with plans to send a missile into space in Robert Rodriguez's Machete Kills, and now there are rumors surfacing that suggest he could be the newest target for Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham and friends. Showbiz 411 has learned from sources close to the film that there have been some serious talks about bringing Gibson in as the antagonist of The Expendables 3. At one point the Aussie actor was actually being mentioned in conversations about possibly directing the feature, but those plans obviously didn't work out, and now it seems that the production may have found room for him in the cast. If the story is true, »
As you may recall, franchise star Sylvester Stallone revealed in April that he wanted Mel Gibson to direct this action sequel, before landing Australian director Patrick Hughes (Red Hill) later that month. No details have been given regarding this villainous character yet.
Nicolas Cage, Jackie Chan, Wesley Snipes and Milla Jovovich are confirmed to star alongside Sylvester Stallone. Stallone also expressed interest last month in bringing on stars of The Raid: Redemption, although no specific names were mentioned.
Sylvester Stallone wrote the screenplay for The Expendables 3, with no story details revealed just yet. We reported last month that Lionsgate has set an August 15, 2014 release date, but it is not known when shooting will begin.
According to a rumor in Showbiz411, Gibson is eyeing the villain role in the third installment of the franchise that pits elder action stars together on various missions. Joining Sylvester Stallone, Bruce Willis and Arnold Schwarzenegger in this round are Jackie Chan and Milla Jovovich. In prior "Expendables" movies, Eric Roberts, Steve Austin and Jean-Claude Van Damme have all starred as villains.
As SlashFilm notes, Stallone once tried to get Gibson to direct "Expendables 3," but tweeted that "Mel's living his own life."
While he's had a horrible run of late (personal troubles aside, Gibson's last big movie, "The Beaver," was an all-out flop), Gibson does star in "Machete Kills," alongside fellow highly respected actors like Lady Gaga and Charlie Sheen.

While Sylvester Stallone was setting up The Expendables 3, he asked his Twitter followers what they thought of the possibility of Mel Gibson directing the movie. For the most part, the response was positive, and a lot of people would have liked to see him do it. Stallone went on to hire Patrick Hughes to direct the movie. But that doesn't mean Gibson isn't going to be a part of it. In fact, he could end up playing the villain!
The news comes from Showbiz411 who says, "I’m told that Gibson will appear in The Expendables 3, the third installment of Sylvester Stallone’s shoot em up series that also features his former Planet Hollywood buddies and partners Bruce Willis and Arnold Schwarzenegger. There’s no confirmation, but the source seemed serious."
The site goes on to say that if the rumor is true, he will play the villain, »

Just when you thought The Expendables 3 casting news couldn’t get any crazier (Nicolas Cage?), it somehow does. A new Showbiz 411 report has another new name that’s apparently about to be added to the project, and it will surprise you: Mel Gibson. That’s right, the troubled star who watched his career disintegrate after an anti-Semitic rant directed at police officers, and accusations of violence against his baby’s mama, may appear in the third installment of Sylvester Stallone’s popular action franchise. A source tells Showbiz 411 that Gibson will join the production as “the villain” of the piece, meaning he gets to square off against Stallone’s band of action film heroes. Ten years ago, the idea of William Wallace taking on Rambo...

Mel Gibson came under some fire last night at the Mel Brooks tribute, still the butt of jokes after his career ending moves with the police, anti-Semitism, racism, drinking, philandering, accusations of violence against his baby mama, and so on. And of course “The Beaver.” But now I’m told that Gibson will appear in “The Expendables 3,” the third installment of Sylvester Stallone’s shoot em up series that also features his former Planet Hollywood buddies and partners Bruce Willis and Arnold Schwarzenegger. There’s no confirmation, but the source seemed serious. Also featured in “E3″ are Jackie Chan and Milla Jovovich. Gibson, sources say, will play “the villain” in the new movie. He’s lucky to be included in a film with other stars at this point. After all his scandals and “The Beaver” he can’t open a film. He made a movie two years ago that »
