Previously on 'Survivor': Since the merge, Tarzan and Jonas began fighting, and Tarzan also annoyed Chelsea and others by putting his dirty shorts into the boiling pot of water at camp. Jonas was booted, though, and that's where we are.
Back at camp: Troyzan and Jay lament Jonas' misfortune of ending up on the other tribe after the tribes switched. Jay thinks the next person voted out has to be a girl because he doesn't want them taking power.
Tree mail comes in the form of a 7-Up bottle in a shameless bit of product placement.
Reward challenge: Divided into two tribes, the teams have to race down a giant water slide and into the water to retrieve five crates full of puzzle pieces. The first tribe to finish the puzzle wins reward. Up for grabs is a trip to a "7-Up oasis." There will be food and there will be 7-Up. The players ooh and ahh over the 7-Up and Jeff opens a bottle to give them all a taste. Also, this segment was sponsored by 7-Up.
The teams: Jay, Troyzan, Kat, Alicia and Chelsea; versus Michael, Kim, Sabrina, Christina and Lee. Tarzan was not picked and will sit it out.
It's a neck-and-neck race until Christina leaves her team in the water to go start looking at the puzzle. Leif and others wonder what she's doing, but it might have helped because despite falling a bit behind, they put their puzzle together first and win reward.
At the reward, Kim and Sabrina get some time alone to talk strategy and discuss how they want their final to be all girls. Kim says they should get rid of Mike so they can take a 6-4 lead. They plan to keep stringing their former Salani tribe mates along just enough to get a clear advantage.
Back at camp, the talk turns to who should go next. Everyone chats about it together, and Troyzan and Jay suggest Christina should go next. The women think Mike should go.
The reward winners come back and Troyzan tells us he's nervous about what was discussed at the reward feast. He wants to check in with Kim and Sabrina to make sure their Salani connection is still solid.
The next day, Leif and Mike see a storm moving in and decide they need to rebuild the shelter. Tarzan apparently keeps taking pieces of the bamboo wall down to use as firewood. Tarzan feels he's being falsely accused and confronts Chelsea, and mentions that he wonders if she's taking out some resentment toward her plastic surgeon on him (because he's a plastic surgeon). She's annoyed by this, but thinks Tarzan has to stick around longer because Mike should go next.
Kim takes Troyzan aside and tells him that Mike is trying to make Troyzan out to be a threat and she thinks Mike should go next. Troyzan falls for it completely and tells us how irked he is by Mike.
Immunity challenge: The players have to race across a ladder bridge while moving bags of puzzle pieces that are connected to a rope that's wound around the bridge. The first four to finish will move to the second round, where they'll attempt to put the puzzle together.
Jay, Toryzan, Alicia and Kim move to the second round, after Mike gives up what was a pretty big lead over the rest of the pack.
A 60-piece puzzle made of blocks of varying angles that are meant to stack on top of each other. Jay, who was dead last but doing a very methodical job of putting his puzzle together takes the victory despite Kim and Alicia getting very close to having finished their puzzles before him.
Back at camp: Jay still thinks a girl should go home next, and he thinks it should be Christina.
Kim asks Troyzan if they're still on the same page with voting out Mike, and he confirms it. Kim's worried Jay will get suspicious.
Next we see Chelsea ask Jay about getting rid of Mike next. He tells her he's scared of the girls, and that if Mike goes now he could go next. Jay tells us he was surprised Chelsea talked so opening in front of Alicia and Christina, and now he's suspicious.
Kim tells us Chelsea's conversation was "asinine" and that's "becoming a huge mess."
Kim tracks down Jay and Mike, who are out for a walk, and tells them they should take out Christina -- just before Jay tells Mike about what Chelsea asked him.
Kim goes back to Sabrina and Kat and tries to confirm that this is the moment when they want to make their move, because if they vote out Mike things will not be the same.
Tribal Council: Jeff opens Tribal by asking who is genuinely concerned they're going home, and no one raises their hand. Tarzan says this means "somebody's been very good at deceiving."
Kim tells Jeff that there are people who think they're part of an alliance that they're not actually a part of. Chelsea says it's good to be aligned with two or three different groups. Alicia says "we still don't know who's on whose side." She says it's going to take a couple of Tribal Councils to figure it out.
We don't see any votes written down.
The vote: Christina, Christina, Tarzan, Tarzan, Mike, Mike, Mike, Mike, and the eighth person voted out and second member of the jury is Mike.
Mike's last words: "I knew going into it that at some point it'd be guys versus girls, and unfortunately it started tonight. I came out of the gate too hot, and I've been backpedaling ever since. Apparently you can't trust anybody, and I thought I could trust so many women out here, but it just wasn't the case."
