A film that captures the portraits and stories of extraordinary women around the world who are coming together to heal the injustices against the earth, weaves together poetry, music, art and stunning scenery to create a hopeful and collective story that inspires us to work for the earth. This is an eye-opening view of how some women across the globe have become leaders in the environmental movement. These women are concentrating on practical solutions to a wide variety of local problems instead of piling onto political bandwagons long on rhetoric and short on "on the ground" success. The initiatives range from the Green Belt Movement in Kenya to the creation of parks in The Bronx. Some of the projects were focusing more on creating justice than on a specific environmental purpose (not that the projects were unworthy of attention). The narration, at times, was a tad overstated, but entertaining all the same. It's a pleasure to see how the leadership of these women is attracting followers. The photography emphasizes the natural beauty of these sites around the world. The whole enterprise makes one feel optimistic and inspires us to make our own changes, albeit small and personal, to better the world.
