Meet the Woggels! (#6.17)

Warning: Spoilers
Jack's mom comes to NYC for a heart operation and Liz insists that the two have a conversation before it is too late. Jenna goes through her list of what to do on sexual walkabout and yokos a children band. Tracy is disappointed that his son wants to go to college and spends a day with him to show what its like to be a Morgan.

Great episode. The whole Jenna yokoing a children's band was hilarious. It is so her! And the band was great as well, some very funny songs. I just hope that Paul didn't really replace her yet.

Tracy doesn't get out of his character by trying to convince his son not to go to college. Ridiculously funny.

Story about Jack and his mom is both very sweet and funny.

Warning: Spoilers
The Wiggles get a bit of a roasting in this Yoko-inspired episode of 30 Rock. Jenna's reference to a "Non-Aboriginal Australian" was subversively to the point when it came to Jenna's preferences. The Australian accents of the Woggels were okay, kind of on par with the Jim Carrey accent in Dumb and Dumber.

It's easy to forget that 30 Rock and Aaron Sorkin's Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip debuted on NBC at the same time. Conventional wisdom was that Sorkin's powerhouse series be the one that would survive the first season, with 30 Rock being a one season wonder. But history has proved otherwise.

Meet the Woggels

There are about 10,000 Australian actors looking for work in the U.S.A. So in order to cast four Australian musicians, two with speaking parts, they gave the roles to two Americans who think that New Zealand is part of Australia. Their sole accent choice seemed to be Meryl Streep's embarrassing "A Dungo tuk mi bybee". And then singing a song "Mommy Kangaroo", which is one & half words words that New Zealand or Australia don't even use. Lazy. Worst episode in nine seasons.
