John Abraham to produce Marathi films

27 July 2016 4:26 AM, PDT | BollywoodHungama | See recent BollywoodHungama news »

John Abraham may be gearing up for his soon to release film Dishoom that is just days away from hitting screens, however that hasn't stopped the actor from looking ahead and planning about the future of his production house. In fact after producing films like Vicky Donor, Madras Cafe and Rocky Handsome, we hear that John will soon be venturing into producing regional films.

Apparently John is pretty keen on producing Marathi films under his banner and has also been in talks with several known Marathi film directors for the same. Commenting on the same, a source close to the actor stated that John had always been keen on making films in different languages and intends on starting with two Marthi films. »

Junooniyat Is The Stupidest Love Story Of The Decade – A Subhash K Jha review

25 June 2016 11:00 PM, PDT | Bollyspice | See recent Bollyspice news »

Starring Pulkit Samrat, Yami Gautam

Now get this. Junooniyat is directed by Vivek Agnihotri, whose last film was the political backfire Buddha In A Traffic Jam. And this film, which could be re-christened ‘Screenplay In A Traffic Jam’, stars Pulkit (Salman Khan) Samrat with Yami (Vicky Donor) Gautam who were last seen as couple three months ago in Sanam Re.

Temptation, as they say, comes in many forms.

If you still find the prospect of seeing Junooniyat tempting then go right ahead. You only have yourself to blame for what lies in store. If Mills & Boon were a Bollywood franchise Junooniyat could be the masthead for the sections devoted to morons. The lovelorn tale is one stretched-out he-loves-me-she-loves-me-not yarn-fest based on absurd coincidences that make no sense in this era of instant communication when every misunderstanding between lovers can be cleared with just one click of a phone.

So sample this. »

A group of underdogs come together for ‘7 Hours To Go’

16 June 2016 10:00 PM, PDT | Bollyspice | See recent Bollyspice news »

Filmmaker Saurabh Varma is all geared up for his upcoming movie 7 Hours To Go starring Shiv Pandit, Sandeepa Dhar, Natasa Stankovic and Varun Badola. The movie is slated to release on June 24. Saurabh Varma agrees to the fact that unlike his last movie Vicky Donor he doesn’t have a popular star backing the film like John Abraham or even a successful writer-director-producer Anand L Rai who took Nil Baatey Sannata to the silver screen but what he does have is a story which is different and inspired by real life events.

“You can’t underestimate the power of a star but Bollywood A-listers only work with a limited set of filmmakers. Directors like me have to prove ourselves to get access to the stars.” Said Saurabh. He also said that his actors aren’t supposed to be taken lightly, 7 Hours To Go is made by a group of underdogs and underestimated actors. »
