Ayushmann Khurrana: We didn't promote Dum Laga Ke Haisha that well

11 March 2015 12:28 AM, PDT | GlamSham | See recent GlamSham news »

Success tastes all the more better when it follows failure and that's exactly what Ayushmaan Khurana is feeling right now. After films like Bewakoofiyaan and Hawaizaada didn't work, Ayusmaan is on cloud nine with the response Dum Laga Ke Haisha is getting.

''Feeling very good and overwhelmed. The audience reaction really matters a lot. And it's the perfect example of word of mouth. We did not promote the film that well. The marketing budget was small. It proves the content is the king eventually,'' said Ayushmaan with a grin.

The 30-year-old actor asserts he'll continue to take risks. He says, ''I am not scared of taking risks. I am immune to success and failure. I am confident about my craft. I will continue to take a lot of risks. When you take risks, you get hit films and you also get films which are not successful. I think that »

Ayushmann Khurrana: The more regional you go, it becomes exotic for people

10 March 2015 5:50 AM, PDT | GlamSham | See recent GlamSham news »

After getting appreciated for his debut movie in Bollywood with Vicky Donor, Ayushmann has created the same magic in Sharat Kataria's lately released Dum Laga Ke Haisha.

Dum Laga Ke Haisha is Ayushmann's second film with Yash Raj, the first being Bewakoofiyan that also starred Sonam Kapoor and Rishi Kapoor in main roles.

Speaking about how Dum Laga Ke Haisha is different from other Yash Raj movies, Ayushmann said, ''The movie is a different Yash Raj Film because it is without the glossy look, without the chiffon sarees. Everything is very real. There is minute detailing.''

''I think the more regional/ local you go, then you can connect internationally. It then becomes exotic for people,'' he added.

Ayushmann, who plays an innocent man in Dum Laga Ke Haisha, further spoke about the story. ''It's a story about an odd couple and about complex characters. I think India overall is a complex country. »

Dum Laga Ke Haisha Music Review

12 February 2015 1:00 AM, PST | Bollyspice | See recent Bollyspice news »

Dum Laga Ke Haisha is the latest offering from Yash Raj Films starring Ayushmann Khurrana (Vicky Donor) and debutante Bhumi Pednekar. It also marks Sharat Katariya (of Bheja Fry fame) changing gears from writer to director.

It film features music by Anu Malik (Main Hoon Na), composing after almost two years, his last being Shootout at Wadala. Lyrics have been penned by Varun Grover while vocal talents featured consist of Monali Thakur (‘Sawar Loon’ – Lootera), Papon (‘Tu’ – Bobby Jasoos) and Kumar Sanu (no introduction needed).

The album gets off to a stunner of a start with Moh Moh Ke Dhaage by Papon. The track is very reminiscent of Anu Malik’s more nuanced work in Asoka and Refugee. The orchestration is beautiful as is the haunting melody. Couple with equally beautiful lyrics and a flawless rendition from Papon, the track is any easy winner. ‘Moh Moh Ke Dhaage’ is repeated »

Box Office – Erotic-supernatural Khamoshiyan takes on fantastical Hawaizaada and dramatic Rahasya

29 January 2015 5:41 PM, PST | Bollyspice | See recent Bollyspice news »

Three interesting films belonging to diverse genres clash at the box office this weekend. In fact each of these has a distinct subject which makes them a candidate good enough for a theater viewing. Khamoshiyan is an erotic-supernatural outing from the house of Bhatts. Hawaizaada is an untold story of an Indian who created world’s first unmanned plane. On the other hand Rahasya is apparently a fictional account of Arushi Talwar murder case.

From the opening standpoint, Khamoshiyan would get a better start due to brand Vishesh Films as well as hit music. Moreover, the promos have been decent too and have managed to find eyeballs. A young affair, it should find a better opening at the multiplexes. Though one doesn’t foresee mayhem at the box office on the opening day, the word of mouth should help it during the weekend.

As for Hawaizaada, yet again it would »
