Trivia

The episode title, "J'ai Obtenu Cette," is French and; it means "I Got This" in English. However, "J'ai obtenu cette" is used only in sentences like "I got this [item]" or "I got this [injury]", being synonymous to "I obtained this" and "I received this".

When the meaning of the words "I got this" is the same as "I'm taking care of this", the French equivalent would actually be "Je m'en occupe". Oops. See more »

Good episode, bad translation
12 September 2014 | by (Baltimore, USA) – See all my reviews

Excellent episode. But I just want to comment on the title of the episode.

The title "I got this" does translate to "J'ai obtenu cette" in French but only in a very specific context that does not fit the episode at all. In brief, it is the worst translation ever and it's obvious they did not consult anybody fluent in French before going for this title. I even suspect that google translate was involved.

"I got this", would translate in "J'ai obtenu cette" only in such a type of sentence: "I got this car in 2008" or "I got this nice jacket at the flea market" or "I got this injury in Vietnam". It means" I obtained this...", "I received this"

The best translation in my opinion would be "Je m'en occupe" that can also translate in English by "I'm taking care of this" which is , I think, the proper context of the episode's title.

Hope you guys appreciate my little comment.
