Netflix has cast a golden god. Billy Crudup will star opposite Naomi Watts in the Gypsy TV show for Netflix. The psychological thriller drama is a departure for Crudup. It marks the actor's first TV series work since a 1987 one-off appearance in General College. His only other TV work was playing Timothy Geithner in the 2011 HBO TV movie, Too Big to Fail. Gypsy is slated for a 2017 premiere date.In Gypsy, Crudup will play the husband of Jean Holloway (Watts). She is a therapist who begins to develop dangerous and intimate relationships with the people in her patients' lives.
