Funny yet Educational

I love Teal's sense of humor and how she uses humor to educate the uninformed general public about the challenges that people who use wheelchairs deal with. People who use wheelchairs don't expect favorable treatment. We just want a level playing field. Pun intended.

Unfortunately it is very rare to see people with physical challenges on network television; therefore, creative people turn to alternative media to educate people while entertaining them. Programs like My Gimpy Life should be encouraged so more people will have the opportunity to see them.

I am looking forward to Season Two. Hopefully funding will be forthcoming shortly so we won't have to wait much longer.

Hilarious commentary on life in a chair

Warning: Spoilers
My Gimpy Life really applies Chaplin's sage quote, "To truly laugh, you must be able to take your pain, and play with it," to our lives in wheelchairs. There are so many scenes that had me nodding my head vigorously in agreement and shouting, "I hate that!" or "so true!"

Teal really does a great job at letting each awkward moment settle in with the viewer for a bit before she reacts. We are so used to awkwardness that it takes a bit before we boil over, but we will boil over (reference to to "Vagina" rant at end).

Our point of view in a wheelchair is different than able body people's point of view, and the camera angles sometimes capture this. Focusing on things like trash cans with step levers is just hilarious. It would be cool to see some first person p.o.v. though, especially when Teal is at the club or bumping into people at the restaurant (my favorite).

great series for us PWDs and loved ones. looking fwd to season 2!
