Revealing mistakes

In the show the train is powered by a steam locomotive, but when the train passes over the camera it clearly shows the pusher diesel. Notice the step boards, mu hoses, and the fuel tank.

Continuity

During the train chase it's obvious the train is speeding down a single main line well away from the station. In the next shot the train passes to the left of the ground camera, just leaving the house track next to the station. Also revealing the old pass track and other town structures in the background.

When Captain Neville and Miles are knife fighting in the train yard, Neville has stubble on his face. A short time later, Captain Neville goes to move Danny from the bank vault and he is clean shaven. A short time later, Captain Neville is outside the train preparing to leave and he once again has stubble.

Factual errors

The Baldwin 4-6-0 Steam Engine #44 (Renumbered #47) is from the SC RR museum, This engine was designed to burn coal and would not run on wood as depicted in the show. The steam engine is currently not operational. Special effects were used so that the locomotive appeared as if under steam while pushed and pulled by a diesel locomotive.
