Sully IMAX Trailer Goes Behind-the-Scenes with Eastwood and Hanks

19 August 2016 2:18 PM, PDT | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

Last month, Warner Bros. debuted the first trailer for their highly-anticipated biopic Sully, which brings two big screen icons, Tom Hanks and director Clint Eastwood, together for the first time. To get fans ready for this incredible true story, Warner Bros. has released a new IMAX trailer, which begins with behind-the-scenes footage and interviews with Clint Eastwood and the biopic's real-life subject, Captain Chelsey "Sully" Sullenberger. While most people know about Sully's heroics, most may not know how this pilot's life was turned upside down by this ordeal.

On January 15, 2009, the world witnessed the "Miracle on the Hudson" when Captain "Sully" Sullenberger glided his disabled plane onto the frigid waters of the Hudson River, saving the lives of all 155 aboard. However, even as Sully was being heralded by the public and the media for his unprecedented feat of aviation skill, an investigation was unfolding that threatened to destroy his reputation and his career. »

After coming off what is far and away the biggest success of his career at the box-office, American Sniper, director Clint Eastwood is taking on another biopic of sorts with Sully. The drama follows the true story of Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger, who glided his plane along the Hudson River, saving the life of all those aboard in an event often referred to as the Miracle on the Hudson. Ahead of a release in a few weeks, an IMAX trailer has now landed.

Tom Hanks stars as Sullenberger, with a cast rounded off by Anna Gunn, Aaron Eckhart, Sam Huntington, and Laura Linney. Review: London Has Fallen Blu-ray

14 August 2016 2:00 AM, PDT | CinemaNerdz | See recent CinemaNerdz news »

There were two White House invasion thrillers released in 2013: Olympus Has Fallen and White House Down. Out of the two, White House Down seemed like the stronger bet at the box office with leads like Channing Tatum and Jamie Foxx and a director, Roland Emerich, who is known for blockbusters. Alas, Olympus Has Fallen came out three months earlier, earned more money, was arguably the better film, and got a sequel in London Has Fallen.

I am a fan of Olympus Has Fallen and was intrigued by the series shifting over to London, so much so that I checked this movie out in theaters (something that not a lot of people did). Despite the harshly negative reviews, I must say I enjoy London Has Fallen quite a bit. Is it the next Die Hard or hard-r action classic? Absolutely not; the film has a thin plot, one-dimensional characters, and generic villains. »

Antoine Fuqua has been coming on strong in recent years after seeing a bit of a downturn in his career following Training Day. But following the successes of Olympus Has Fallen, The Equalizer and Southpaw and with a promising remake of The Magnificent Seven on deck for September, Fuqua has once again become a filmmaker that studios want to work with, and so it shouldn't come as much of a surprise... Spider-Man: Homecoming Gets 2 Surprising New Cast Members

1 August 2016 7:30 PM, PDT | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

With Spider-Man: Homecoming still in the early days of production, it's never too late to add a few more cast members as shooting continues in Atlanta. Today we have word that there will be two somewhat surprising new additions to the cast, with actress and stand up comedian Martha Kelly and Ufc fighter Tyron Woodley signing on for unspecified roles. We don't know for sure when they'll start filming, but Tyron Woodley's involvement may have been hinted at this weekend.

The Ufc aired its latest pay-per-view event Ufc 201 on Saturday night, and for those who watched the event, young star Tom Holland was spotted in the crowd, which wasn't terribly surprising since the fight took place in Atlanta, where the movie is shooting, and where Tyron Woodley knocked out Robbie Lawler to win the welterweight title. Deadline reported on Martha Kelly's casting, although Tyron Woodley revealed the news »

Ufc Welterweight Champion Tyron Woodley Joins Spider-Man: Homecoming Cast

1 August 2016 3:21 PM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

Is the cast of Spider-Man: Homecoming ever going to stop expanding? Just hours after we learned of yet another addition to the seemingly very crowded movie, it has now been revealed that newly crowned Ufc Welterweight Champion Tyron Woodley will be making an appearance in the highly anticipated reboot from Marvel Studios.

As with pretty much every actor cast in Spider-Man: Homecoming over the past few months, we have no clue who he’s playing, but it’s fair to assume that he’ll be someone the wall-crawler ends up coming to blows with. After all, the last time a Ufc fighter who held that belt appeared in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Georges St-Pierre gave Steve Rogers quite the fight as Batroc in Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

It was during an interview on The Mma Hour today that the casting was confirmed when Woodley said the following:

Spider-man: Homecoming Adds Another Surprising Cast Member In The Form Of A Ufc Champion

1 August 2016 1:54 PM, PDT | ComicBookMovie.com | See recent ComicBookMovie news »

This past weekend, Spider-Man: Homecoming star Tom Holland was spotted at Ufc 201, and now we know why! Tyron Woodley won the welterweight championship at the event in Atlanta, Georgia, and he revealed on The Mma Hour (via Spider-Man News) today that he's landed a role in the reboot. Who he's playing remains a mystery of course, but he'll make for a tough foe for the wall-crawler. "I don’t know if I can even say this," he teased, "but I’m working on a Marvel movie on Thursday in Atlanta." Woodley has plenty of experience in the world of film as he's done stunts for Olympus Has Fallen and Straight Outta Compton and also has a role in the next Fast & Furious movie. While it would be easy to assume that he's just playing Random Thug #3, bear in mind that the last Ufc champion to show up in the McU was Georges St-Pierre, »

An Unnecessarily In-Depth Analysis of The Magnificent Seven Trailer

19 July 2016 10:46 AM, PDT | FilmSchoolRejects.com | See recent FilmSchoolRejects news »

The remake of a remake.Don’t worry, I counted. There‘s seven.

Westerns always put an extra giddy-up in my canter. It’s easily the most enjoyable genre of film for me. I think it has something to do with manly men doing manly men things. You know, like twirling a six-shooter around the shooting finger and placing it perfectly in its holster without even looking. I can’t even put my phone in my pocket without dropping it at least four times a day, easy. The Magnificent Seven — based on the 1960 film of the same name which was based on Seven Samurai — just had its second trailer released, which is of the more official variety and less the teaser kind. Take a little break from reading and watch it in all its magnificence:

Londoners put through their paces at the London Has Fallen: Urban Heroes Event

19 July 2016 8:00 AM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

To celebrate the release of the explosive, fun-filled adrenaline ride that is London Has Fallen on both DVD & Blu-ray yesterday (July 18th), Londoners have been put through their paces at London’s Southbank with the London Has Fallen: Urban Heroes Event.

In partnership with Lionsgate Home Entertainment, obstacle course race experts Urban Attack constructed the imposing course on Riverside Slice in the shadow of the Oxo Tower. Members of the public competed on the course to see if they had what it took to emulate London Has Fallen’s resident hard man, Mike Banning (Gerard Butler). Some well-known faces, including Sam Callahan and Chloe Paige (X Factor) and Love Island’s Chris Baxter also took part whilst YouTube sensation Tobiias and his unwitting housemates took on former Sas trooper, ITV fitness trainer and Urban Attack’s owner Rob Edmond… and lost.

London Has Fallen Blu-ray Review

16 July 2016 2:00 AM, PDT | The Hollywood News | See recent The Hollywood News news »

There could be a moment where films like London Has Fallen start to accidentially reflect reality a little too much but in the escapism of cinema, and the vast push towards those classic almost-impossible action movie boundaries, there’s more than enough here to take you away with an entertaining and cheesy, yet action packed, sequel of sorts to Olympus Has Fallen.

Not messing around with the winning formula in any way, Gerald Butler‘s Mike Banning returns to try and save President Ben Asher, played again by Aaron Eckhart, after a routine State visit to London ends up becoming a setup to kill all the world leaders and consequentially a deadly bloodbath. There’s not an excessive amount you can say about the plot because as a whole it involves Banning and Asher trying not to be killed by a seriously high volume of baddies that are both seemingly »

London Has Fallen: Bromance at the Movies

12 July 2016 2:18 AM, PDT | The Hollywood News | See recent The Hollywood News news »

Let’s face it; it’s a fairly daunting task to save the world all by yourself. Not to mention, doesn’t having a partner by your side make fighting crime and evil so much more fun? We think so.

With the upcoming release of Olympus Has Fallen sequel, London Has Fallen on digital platforms from 11th July, 2016 and onto Blu-ray & DVD from 18th July, 2016, the ultimate buddy duo President Benjamin Asher (Aaron Eckhart) and his top security detail Mike Banning (Gerard Butler) are back to save the world from imminent danger once again. This time, however, the American duo is on foreign ground, in London. This is new territory for the pair but Asher and Banning remain astonishingly in sync.

Whether they will admit it or not, there does seem to be a special bond, dare we say bromance… that develops between the two men working toward a mutual mission. »

Movie Review – The Purge: Election Year (2016)

3 July 2016 4:45 AM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

The Purge: Election Year, 2016.

Written and Directed by James DeMonaco.

Starring Frank Grillo, Elizabeth Mitchell, Mykelti Williamson, Joseph Julian Soria, Betty Gabriel, Terry Serpico, Edwin Hodge, and Kyle Secor.

Synopsis:

Two years after choosing not to kill the man who killed his son, former police sergeant Barnes has become head of security for Senator Charlene Roan, the front runner in the next Presidential election due to her vow to eliminate the Purge.

Some movies are timely, and then there are others that cross the line into blunt, over exaggerated, in-your-face propaganda to fit a timely agenda. The Purge: Election Year, aside from releasing in a year when America will actually elect a new president in real life, features a female senator running for president (she even bears a striking resemblance to Hillary Clinton in some ways, most notably the blonde hair) campaigning with the goal in mind of becoming victorious »
