Trick says caltraps were used in Fae games by an obscure sect. They were fairly common anti-personnel weapons in ancient Greece, Rome, Persia, India, Japan, and China. Generally four pointed in a tetrahedral pattern, the points could pierce the feet of soldiers, horses, camels, and even elephants.
