A good movie depicts the local & children's life realistically

Movie story line realistically depicts the village life in the southern coastal area of Karnataka. Children's feelings and emotions have shown well. Movie at the end also passes on the neutral morale message.

Scenes are close to real life incidents, so naturally it lacks the additional masala or dramatic incidents you associate typically to the Indian cinema. However,I really consider this is a honest effort and should be accoladed for.

I still wonder why the name "Alegalu". I some how feel there can be some more appropriate name for the movie.

Acting of little Basu stands out and very well portrayed. He really depicted the shy & unsure boy who struggles to cope up with the change in his life after the demise of his father. His love to his father is evident from the way he likes his watch, which apparently he offers to the god he search in the rock.

Basu's grandmother, Basu's would be step father, Putta's mother roles bought out naturally.

The character of bully boy Putta is OK. His naughty smile and mischievous nature is well portrayed. The character could have been slightly improved with little stress on his emotions.

Some characters just do not live the emotions of the moment well. They seem to be lifeless at times. Basu's mother, Putta's father could have been played slightly with some additional zeal.

Images were good, though editing can be slightly bettered for certain sequences. However, in India with the limited budget improving quality of the video is understandably very challenging.

All together it is an excellent effort and there are some minor things to be improved. Children can enjoy the film so as their parents and grand parents.
