Even though the days change, the mechanics in the auto repair shop wear the same clothes everyday. The one mechanic, Mikey, wears the same tank top with a tear at the neckline, and has motor grease in the same spots in each scene.
One of Saul's mechanics lives in an upscale home that includes a built in pool, well beyond his pay scale, and well beyond the home that Saul lives in.
When Sarah tells James that she is auditioning for a theater group, he never mentions that his ex-girlfriend works with a theater group, or that this could be the theater group she is involved in. At this point, the ex-girlfriend has already been shown to be a menace to Sarah and James, yet James shows no concerns or worries that his new girlfriend could encounter his ex-girlfriend.
Confused over what to do with his situation, James meets his father, Saul, in an empty church. It is never revealed how he knows Saul is at the church. Previously, Saul has fished an unread letter to James from James' mother out of a storage box. Somehow, Saul has this letter with him. He presents it to James, telling him he has never read it. James opens it and reads it aloud. As he reads, Saul opens a Bible and searches for a passage that is identical to the story that James' mother writes him in the letter. If Saul has never read the letter, he could not know this passage as quickly as he does.
