Storyline

When the world was still cooling, a crystalline satellite entered the planet's orbit and became a permanent feature. Existing through the early stages of civilization, this object was actually the virtual prison for the raw energies of the Radiant and Dire, vying for control within the confines of the "Mad Moon". Eventually, their struggle became so extreme that the moon was blasted apart, with shards falling all across the world. The energies of the Radiant and Dire attracted creatures of different alignments and unified under these factions, the battles of Dota would commence. Written by Samuel Horton

Trivia

Dota 2 is the sequel to the Warcraft III custom scenario Defense of the Ancients, developed by the pseudonymous lead designer, IceFrog. Said lead designer was hired in 2009 by Valve to develop a stand-alone sequel that would be a virtual re-engineering of the original, on the Source engine. See more »

The final upgrade for the War3-mod fans
27 August 2013 | by See all my reviews

Icefrog has made a great work in here, adding the original names to the champions and skills, giving originality to certain features that give the game the difficulty (and dynamism) we were expecting.

As a huge fan of the original War3 modified map Dota-AllStars i have to say this is all i have been expecting and more. The map, the names, the skills and the items have been upgraded but all of this has been made to be easy to remember, and learn, how to play.

The game is very well balanced.

I miss certain things like the designs on some characters and items, but is OK.

Grab your mouse, turn on the speakers, it's time to play!
