Sex & Nudity

  • One man grabs a girl, and tries to kiss her. Another man immediately stops him.
  • Nothing too bad. The main girl wears a dress that is somewhat low in the front for the duration of the film.

Violence & Gore

  • An important character is slashed through the abdomen, and then sliced in the back. Later an enemy holds his severed head up for his friends to see, and throws it at them. The head lands right in front of the camera. Very disturbing.
  • The vikings hide sharpened stakes in the ground and several men and horses are impaled on them. We see the stakes go through the chests of a few men and blood spurts, but the shots don't linger.
  • Several intense violent battles throughout.
  • A man has his head shoved into a fire pit. When his head is removed, his severely burnt face is clearly seen.
  • A woman puts her hands on the ground and they are then seen with blood on them.
  • Several scenes of graphic violence.

Profanity

  • One character is repeatedly called a "herd". He gets offended by it. It is later revealed that "herd" is a derogatory name for one of the kings guards.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • The vikings ask their leader to come drink with them. He declines and asks a monk why he would give them mead. The monk replies that he didn't give it to them.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Several intense violent battles throughout.
  • A man has his head shoved into a fire pit.

Spoilers

Violence & Gore

  • The villain has a broken sword blade shoved into his ear, and then into his brain. However the impact happens on the side of his head opposite the camera view. Pretty violent all the same.
