Like Dragon's Lair, but the Sega CD version of this one was lacking.

This game was a disappointment when I rented it on the Sega CD. When I saw it was a Dragon's Lair type game I was stoked, however this game was simplified to a highly ridiculous degree. You play it on the easiest setting you get the directions on the screen. It is not much harder on the most difficult setting as it shows you when you push an action every time rather than a flashing hint like in Dragon's Lair. It spelled it out to you way to much. Still, the artwork was good and it could of been a very fun game if not for the simplicity of it. I never saw it in the arcade so I only have the Sega CD version known as Revenge of the Ninja so the arcade may of been more difficult and less in your face telling you to do an action here and there. The Sega CD version also has the distortion on the screen that looks like you are looking through something and not directly at the video. It has some charm, but really it takes no time to win this one, much like Dragon's Lair it gets quickly memorized and afterward you are left with a game that has virtually no replay value whatsoever other than to see a really quick cartoon where you may feel evil about and see how many different ways the hero can die.
