Gravitas Ventures has purchased the thriller Apartment 1303.
The 3D feature stars former Oc actress Mischa Barton.
Gravitas bought the rights to Apartment 1303 with plans to distribute the independent film in theaters and through video on demand simultaneously, it was announced on Thursday (April 19).
Apartment 1303 is a remake of a Japanese horror film by the same name, which is itself adapted from a novel by Kei Ôishi.
Michael Taverna ( Resilient 3D) directed the thriller, also writing the screenplay.
The film sees Barton playing a woman investigating her sister's death. After moving into her sibling's Detroit apartment, Barton's character Lara is left terrorized by the supernatural.
Apartment 1303 will debut on VOD on June 17 and in Us theaters on July 25. Release dates for international territories including the UK are yet to be revealed.
