Halloween: Meet the Cast (2007)

*** (out of 4)

This 20-mintue featurette can be found on the bonus disc to Rob Zombie's HALLOWEEN. Zombie starts off talking why casting is always he funnest part of filmmaking as he says it's then that you know the pages are going to come to life. From here we, as the title says, meet the cast and they talk about the characters they play while Zombie talks about why he wanted them for the role. Malcolm McDowell, Andy Gould, Daeg Faerch, Tyler Mane, Sheri Moon Zombie, Scout Taylor-Compton, Danielle Harris, Brad Dourf, Kristina Klebe, Dee Wallace, Danny Trejo, Lew Temple and Sid Haig are all interviewed about their characters and a few comment on what it's like working with Zombie. There's no question that this is one of those "kiss each other and say how wonderful they are" features but I think fans should still enjoy it just because it gives you a chance to get a few thoughts from the cast. Yes, all they do is talk about how great each other are and they make it seem as if they never had an issue with anyone involved in the production but do you really expect them to come out and saying negative stuff? With that said, this offers up a few fun stories from the cast. Harris talks about being in the original series and then appearing here. Taylor-Compton talks about why she didn't want her character to be like the one in the original. Haig talks about how he'd do anything Zombie asked him. There's certainly nothing ground-breaking here but fans of the film should enjoy it (as well as those who didn't enjoy the movie such as myself).
