Although Dr Bakus was correct in stating that the ship had accelerated to 3% the speed of light (5,588 miles per second), Cheryl Wincroft was not correct in stating the shuttle would impact in 30 minutes. At the stated speed of 5,588 miles per second, or 20,116,800 miles per hour, it would take the Clipper over 4 hours to reach the sun, which is 93,000,000 miles from earth. See more
