A Swiss travel agent loses his job after the 2011 Tohoku earthquake and tsunami. Out of solidarity he decides to walk across Japan, 2900km from North to South in order to help. An inspiring post 3/11 documentary.

Initially the film was supposed to be a 5-10 minutes "a day in the life of Thomas" sort of portrait featuring Thomas's "walk through Japan" project. As the filming in Japan began the story very quickly became bigger and bigger. A year later the film has grown to a 78 minute feature length documentary. "A day in the life of Thomas" has become "A year in the life of Thomas". See more
