Jeremiah,Daniel And The Babylonian Exile
22 April 2014 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

Survival is the last episode of the mini-series that depict the events from the Old Testament. It includes the Israelites' exile at Babylon and the story of Daniel.

In it,we witness the events of the Babylonian exile of the Israelites. It started with the blinding of Judah's last ruler,King Zedekiah;the death of his sons;and transportation of the Hebrews to Babylon by King Nebuchadnezzar and his troops. While these events are occurring,we get to see glimpses of the prophet,Jeremiah, who acted as Zedekiah's counselor. Then,we get to see the three Hebrews - Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego - that survived the execution inside the blazing furnace. Also, the story of Daniel was told.It includes how he and his friends survived inside the lion's den due to their faith in God.It concludes when the Israelites were allowed to return to their native land.

Just like the previous episodes of the mini-series,this once again shortchanged the viewers as the story of Jeremiah was skipped and too much emphasis was given on King Zedekiah.I think that Christians would have learned more with Jeremiah. But still, the first five episodes definitely never fell short of entertainment as the it now shifts into the New Testament particularly with the story of Jesus in the next five episodes.
