Tyler, the Creator Created The Jellies, a New Cartoon Series, for You, and This Is Its Teaser

Tyler, the Creator Created The Jellies, a New Cartoon Series, for You, and This Is Its Teaser
Loiter Squad might be gone, but that doesn't mean Tyler, the Creator is done making crazy things for TV. He's still doing it. Just now he's truly doing it straight from his brain, "without restrictions and bullshit." That sentiment sure feels alive and well in The Jellies, his animated series about a family of jellyfish and their adopted non-jellyfish son. Tyler's version of a bildungsroman? Ma-a-aybe — just with ten times as much violence, sex-related stuff, and cussing as Catcher in the Rye. The show, which features music from Tyler and the voices of Ofwgkta, was co-written by Lionel Boyce and animated by Augenblick Studios (Golan the Insatiable). You can watch the teaser here, and if you like what you see, the first episode's available on the rapper's Golf Media app (first two months free):New episodes will drop every Sunday at 6 p.m. Pst.

X-Men Franchise Expands With The New Mutants Spinoff; Josh Boone To Direct

As part of its effort to grow the X-Men into an expansive cinematic universe, Fox has inked a deal with The Fault in Our Stars helmer Josh Boone to co-write and direct The New Mutants, a standalone spinoff that will introduce a new generation of exceptionally gifted youngsters who could potentially join forces with the X-Men in future films.

Knate Gwaltney, a supervising producer on Loiter Squad who wrote the upcoming thriller Kidnap, will co-write the pic.

Though Boone, who made his debut with romantic drama Stuck in Love, may seem like an odd choice to delve into superhero territory, he’s been a hot commodity for years now and is hard at work over at Warner Bros. on an ambitious, multi-film adaptation of Stephen King’s The Stand. The helmer reached out to King and became friendly with the writer, who also set Boone to work on an adaptation of Lisey’s Story.

Robot Chickens and Selfish Milkshakes: 'Adult Swim' 101

There was a certain point in history, somewhere between The Simpsons and Daria, when TV animation ceased to be the sole provenance of kids drooling over their morning bowls of Lucky Charms. These days, cartoons for grown-ups are not only ubiquitous, but hilariously twisted and high-quality to boot — and that's due in large part to a phenomenon called Adult Swim. What began as a freaky little block of late-night programming has evolved into a vast, even-freakier universe of animated and live-action series with a sardonic, absurdist sense of humor that's

See Seth Rogen play football poorly in a little girl's dress on 'Loiter Squad' -- Exclusive Video
When Seth Rogen isn’t baiting Bieber, effing around with Efron, or frighteningly serving as a Franco painting subject, he apparently likes to dress up like a little girl and toss around the pigskin.

Or at least that’s what he’s doing as a guest star on tonight’s episode of Loiter Squad (midnight, Adult Swim), Odd Future’s sketch comedy show that kicked off its third season last week. (Their mutual admiration continues, as Rogen was seen wearing an Odd Future hat and T-shirt in Neighbors.) Click on the video below to watch Tyler, the Creator, Jasper Dolphin,

'Loiter Squad' Returns For A 3rd Season Next Month On Adult Swim. Are You Watching?

  • ShadowAndAct
While you're hoping for a return of In Living Color, you might want to check out this sketch comedy series that airs on Sunday nights on the Adult Swim network, titled, Loiter Squad. The new season - its 3rd - of Loiter Squad premieres on Thursday, May 15 at midnight Et/Pt. Despite now going into its 3rd season, many have actually never heard of the series, based on the unscientific research I did (polling every one I know on and offline). I hadn't heard of it until it was entering its second season last year, and eventually did check out a few episodes, but wasn't hooked in. So I didn't hang around for too long. But maybe some of you are fans. The series is...

Adult Swim Embarks on College Tour with Promotional Fun House

Adult Swim will be expanding its reach this spring, when the network hits the road for a 12-week, 10-city national college tour sponsored by Ice Breakers mints and KFC.

The road trip will provide a much-needed study break for college students, as the network will be setting up a 40-foot tall inflatable castle featuring 15 rooms themed after popular shows including “Aqua Teen Hunger Force,” “Childrens Hospital,” “Loiter Squad,” “Metalocalypse,” “Robot Chicken” and “Squidbillies” at each campus.

Not your average fun house, the Adult Swim castle will require students and guests to crawl, slide and even sing their way through, depending on the path they choose. The Karaoke Cage will ask participants to sing their hearts out to pre-selected songs, and guests will also traverse the Tippy Tunnel, a kaleidoscopic hallway located within the castle.

The Adult Swim Fun House tour will be open to people ages 18 and older and will be free to enter.

Up-And-Coming Comedian Jerrod Carmichael Sets Up New Comedy at NBC

  • ShadowAndAct
Perhaps in response to the ongoing call for diversity at NBC, the network has ordered a presentation for a new comedy starring and created by up-and-coming comic Jerrod Carmichael.  The show will be based on Carmichael's comedy and life as "a consummate optimist who is eager to take on the world, but is too busy taking on everyone and everything in his small corner of it," says Deadline.  Carmichael is a relatively new face, having written and appeared in a few projects including Fox's The Goodwin Games, and as a consulting writer on Adult Swim's Loiter Squad.  Catch a glimpse of his stand-up from The Laugh Factory, below:

GameTrailers Vgx Awards - Review And Winners

  • Cinelinx
Annual video game awards show change name, format, and broadcast exclusively online to show off amazing game footage, but is that enough?

On Saturday evening, Spike brought their annual Vga awards online for the first time in its history. The awards, now retitled Vgx, was a three hour webcast event exclusively streamed on Viacoms Cable Network websites, Yahoo Screen, Xbox Live and Twitch. The event, which was hosted by Gametrailers own Geoff Keighley and Joel McHale(Community, The Soup) eschewed the traditional large award show format of previous years and instead replaced it with a format of interviews, award presentation, trailer reveals and audience participation, which drew mixed commentary from the audience. However, the evening had its share of highlights and lowlights, both from developers and the talent themselves

The Highlights:

 - TellTale Games makes two major announcements, The first announced at the beginning of the broadcast was a new Borderlands title,

Watch: Odd Future's Tyler, The Creator and Company Debut Short Film 'The Ghost of the Hotel (The Movie)'
In the spirit of Halloween, the stars of Adult Swim's "Loiter Squad" -- Tyler the Creator, Taco, Jasper, Lionel Boyce, and Earl Sweatshirt, otherwise known as the rap collective, Odd Future -- have debuted a short film entitled "The Ghost of the Hotel (The Movie)." The film recounts the alleged death of a little girl by a staircase in, as you'd expect, a hotel. Sweatshirt and Boyce play the detectives on the scene of the crime as they interrogate Tyler and Jasper. The eccentric Los-Angeles based Mc's incorporate the same antics they exercise in their show in the film, which they describe thusly: "Tyler, Jasper, Lionel, Taco And Earl Thought Of This At 4 In The Morning Knowing It Would Be One Of The Greatest Movies Of All Time." See if you agree:

Tyler, the Creator's Mountain Dew ad pulled after being called the 'most racist commercial in history'

  • Pop2it
Odd Future's Tyler, the Creator has earned a bunch of heat for the third installment in a series of Mountain Dew ads he directed featuring a character named Felicia the Goat. The third of three commercials was released a week ago and has earned PepsiCo so much backlash for being racist that the company has pulled the video across the board and issued an apology.

"We apologize for this video and take full responsibility. We have removed it from all Mountain Dew channels and Tyler is removing it from his channels as well," Mountain Dew says in a statement. The video in question can be watched here.

The three-part storyline in the ads starts when a goat voiced by Tyler who attacks a waitress after a restaurant runs out of Mountain Dew. In the second video, Felicia the Goat evades a police officer who pulls him over for a "Dew-u-i,

The Workaholics guys are everywhere lately.
