An Emotional Final Episode Of A Great Show
9 October 2014 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

Finishing The Hat is the final episode of Desperate Housewives. It was definitely an emotional finale to one of the best shows that was ever shown on television. We see the lives of the Wisteria Lane residents are going to be forever changed especially when we see that everyone is leaving the neighborhood and probably never see each other again.

Let's start with Lynette. She and Tom got back together again. She got a high-paying job offer from her friend Katherine Mayfair, who just came back from France but rejected it for the sake of their marriage. While there was definitely a happy reunion between the two,the problems between them will continue as they head towards New York.

As for Bree, her trial concluded favorably and she was found innocent of the crime charged against her.Added to that, she and her attorney Trip Weston got together romantically.I can see that she will continue to climb the social and political ladder.Success is coming to her just like what she did in the early season. It was also great that she finally found the "perfect one" when it comes to love and became a married woman in the end.

Gabrielle received a big promotion at work which made her neglectful towards her husband Carlos. While I may have felt good for her,I felt sad towards her husband who unfortunately did the same when she was earning a lot while she was being neglected which caused her to have a relationship with a gardener in the past and only provided her lots of money to keep her happy. But in spite of what happened,I was happy for her character that she finally became a woman of her own.

Finally for Susan, her daughter goes on labor at an opportune time. While I found it to be light-hearted,I still felt happy for her as she became a woman of her own as well by having the courage to finally take care of the family after Mike passed away.

As for the other characters,we get to see Renee get married and all the housewives get to attend. As everyone moves away from Wisteria Lane,we also get to see Mrs. McCluskey also prepares to move to a different neighborhood. But nevertheless,we know that when we see a new housewife in the end of the show move to Wisteria Lane, the drama over there will be far from over.

The final episode was definitely a great one.All the housewives came into their terms. Both the flashbacks and the flash forwards were done very well.Everyone will definitely miss the show and it was definitely a great 8 years that the creators and the writers of the show provided the viewers.I expect this show to become popular still for many years to come whether in re-runs or DVD release.
