  Richard Castle : You don't understand.

  Martha Rodgers : It's complicated. So you say. Only it's not... It's not. Nobody's tomorrow are guaranteed, right? Wouldn't it be better to tell her even if the timing is wrong then never to tell her at all?

  Richard Castle : And what if she isn't ready?

  Martha Rodgers : Then she never will be. Then you move on.

  Alexis Castle : Well, they say that genius... skips a generation.

  Richard Castle : Apparently, so does funny.

• Captain Victoria Gates : I have a special task for you. I hear you're quite the speed reader. And in the time that I've known you, you've shown, well... on occasion, an exceptional attention to detail.

  Richard Castle : That's the first time you've ever paid me a compliment.

  [Gates holds up her hand] 

  Richard Castle : Go on.

  Captain Victoria Gates : We've conducted over 100 interviews so far. Someone needs to review them swiftly, looking for information that can help us ID our suspect. And I, I believe you're my best bet.

  [Castle is handed a stack of folders. Gates walks away] 

  Richard Castle : [to Becket]  I think she's finally starting to like me.

  Captain Victoria Gates : [outside her office]  No, I'm not.

• Martha Rodgers : Honey, do you ever wonder why I never visited you at the precinct the first year you were working there?

  Richard Castle : I always thought it was because of the harsh lighting.

  Kevin Ryan : [interrupting]  Beckett... we got something.

  Kate Beckett : Um...

  Richard Castle : It's okay. It can wait 'till after the case.
