Naruto's Book

Warning: Spoilers
The senjutsu training continues for Naruto. Fukasaku tells him that to absorb the natural energy, he must be completely quiet and become one with the nature. But he also has to balance the energy inside, if not, he is going to turn into a toad for good. Gamakichi "jokingly" said that it would be like dying for him. Considering it takes time, and Naruto says that Pain and Akatsuki will go after him, Fukasaku then suggests a way to learn faster. He shows him a fountain full of toad oil, which can atract natural energy. He rubs some on Naruto's skin, and soon he acquires toad features, on the right eye and hand. When he sees a reflection, he gets a scare, and Fukasaku hits him with his cane. The old toad tells that the cane will return him to normal, and that no anyone can resist this training. Jiraiya and Naruto have a big amount of chakra, but if a normal person tries to absorb natural energy, it would be too much, and would transform into an animal inmediatly. He also explains that Jiraiya learned the senjutsu very well, but still showed some toad features. Though it's going to be hard, Naruto agrees to do this training, he will follow the same ninja way of Jiraiya. He practices using 3 clones, with Fukasaku's approval, and in time, he manages to obtain and balance some natural energy, despite the many hits received with the cane. He progress quickly thanks to the toad oil, so Fukasaku asks him to try to lift up a giant frog statue, like he did before. He asks him to try first with ninjutsu, but Naruto shows he can't, and when tries with senjutsu, takes a time but finally makes it. Then, they go to eat more toad food, and to Naruto's chagrin, now tastes good. After this, Fukasaku tells him that the next step is to concentrate natural energy, but without the oil. Then, he gifts him a book, the first novel Jiraiya wrote. Naruto goes to read the book in the jungle, and soon gets to the famous part his father liked: while fighting some unknown ninja, the protagonist corners him against a tree, and fools him with a clone. "You should give up ... Trying to make me give up". The defeated ninja says: "Even if you kill me, another assasin will attack the village... There will be no peace, as long as we live on this accursed world of ninjas". So the protagonist tells: "If there's such thing as peace, I will find it! I won't give up. I will break the curse". The ninja then asks "who are you?", and the protagonist says "I'm..." Naruto realizes that it's his name. When Naruto sees the photo of his sensei at the end of the book, he cries, and remembers a conversation they had during their travels: after talking about what Sasuke said, Naruto asked his sensei what happened to Orochimaru. Jiraiya said that his teammate changed when his parents died. He also says that maybe he never understood him, as his own parents were never killed. But he realized that the hatred has been spreading among the shinobi, so he wants to do something about it, yet he doesn't know what. "But I believe that eventually the day will come when people truly understand one another!" If he can't find the answer, he entrusts Naruto to find it. Then, he laughs at his optimistic attitude and says he's glad that he chose him as his student. But he won't give up yet with the answer, and plans to change the world with his books. Naruto mocks that they are not sold, so Jiraiya tells him that when his novels become famous, he won't give him an autograph. At the end, Naruto smiles and thinks how his sensei gave him something much better. It was a beautiful end for the episode. Tearful, emotive, moving, as Naruto ends up reading the same book than his father, handed to them by Jiraiya. To realize that the protagonist's name was his own, just raises even more Jiraiya on Naruto's mind. It's like he was with him since the beginning. The encharge, the legacy, the lessons, the moments shared, the care and love from family, that's what he left to Naruto. Then, when Fukasaku trained Naruto, he had very present Jiraiya. Knowing that he did the same training, it's a very strong motive for Naruto to follow. It's inspiring for him. If Gaara could understood that the love for team 7 and Iruka made Naruto stronger, then, his love for Jiraiya, makes him even more stronger because he lost him. The training follows the same logic than in last episode. It's coherent, entertaining, shows moments of comedy, and includes Gamakichi, a toad who basically grew at the same time than Naruto. Another detail I want to remark is the physical appearance of the protagonist of the book. Naruto is portrayed as an adult around 30 years old, blonde hair and longer than usual, partially covering his Konoha headband, a serious look, eyes not so big or wide open, and a slightly sharper face. He looked perfect, like the true son of Minato Namikaze the 4th Hokage. The resemblance is much more clearer. But when I saw how Naruto is portrayed in Boruto, I thought, he looks terrible. Short hair, and the face nothing like his father. It's like he's not Naruto. The Naruto of the book Tales of a Gutsy Ninja is a much better image for the 7th Hokage. He looks serious, experienced, with his past suffering carried on his face, but also showing features of the Naruto kid and teenager. Like I said, he looks much more similar to his father. I guess Naruto's look in Boruto basically implies how bad is the sequel, which cancels several things from the first part and Shippuden.

On the other hand, Akatsuki plans their next move. Having sealed the six tails jinchuriki, and with the Hachibi seemingly captured, Obito tells Pain to go for Naruto. He warns him that after Jiraiya's death, Konoha will be expecting him and taking measures. Konan is confident, she says that Pain is invincible. Still, they prepare for the attack. In the meantime, Zetsu, Kisame and Obito go to seal the Hachibi. Kisame complains that it will take longer because they are few, but then, in a while, the process finishes. Killer B fooled everyone and sent a substitute tentacle posing as him instead. This was an interesting twist. Killer B was way too powerful and great to be defeated that easily. He is experienced and smart enough to trick his captors. He even fooled Obito and Zetsu, who didn't realize the scheme until the end. By using the chakra of the Hachibi, which is big enough, the trick is perfect. Meanwhile, he's alive and kicking somewhere else.
